I've recently got into flying with twin sticks, both within Elite and it's incomplete rival. I've found the extra control it gives to be quite amazing but it's highlighted to me how none of the currently available joysticks provide everything a space simmer needs. I love CH Sticks, the switches are of excellent quality and the handles are just the right side for my hands but the gimbals are very sloppy at the centre. The TM T16000m has a nice gimbal and Hall sensors but the handle feels very cheap and the buttons are too few and even cheaper.
So my challenge is to create a controller incorporating the best parts from the two controllers. This is a work in progress but these are the results of my first days work.
This is the project box with pilot holes drilled.
Now the 35mm square hole has been cut into the box.
The TM base has been dismantled.
and now it has been hacked apart.
