Newcomer / Intro Custom Music and Custom Notes and text?

Hi guys,

I get the feeling that there are ways of messing around with the game files to let you do certain interesting things like putting text files somewhere that you can then open in game, and perhaps putting some music files somewhere that you can play.

I have no idea if it's actually possible but a rich customisable game like this usually has stuff like that, either directly or through various mods and hacks (of the legal kind). I've already seen UI colour hacks, custom keybinding saved to a file and a few other things.

Anyone heard of this, know of this or know if this has been heard of or known by the devs as some future thing that will be a thing?

That would be a good thing.

Cheers !

I wouldn't call the game very customisable. You can probably replace the ingame music files with ones of your own, but I don't know what the overall effect would be. As for opening text files in the game, why?

They are working on making an API available, so we can customize the cockpit screen.

And regarding music and text files. Honestly, just play in borderless mode and you can tab out without problems and control music, write notes etc.
No need for something ingame for that.

Playing with the rift which makes it a pain to "tab out", so it would have been nice. I know the game isn't designed for rift users exclusively, so I don't demand it or anything. It would just be nice. Note taking is very important in this, and pre-prepared data to be able to reference in-cockpit would be a lovely little addition.

I think I'll just set up winamp with global hotkeys. I mean what's a good space pirate doing flying around without music?
