Custom Music

I cannot get my custom music to work. I've tried to rename my Mp3's, switched to the default music player <eek> without any success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [wink]

I'm wondering if there's some specific bit rate for the music to be at. I got the music to show up on my drop down but half the time the audio doesn't play or plays for a few seconds before it blips out, sometimes cutting out the normal sounds the ride would be making.

I didn't think mp3's were supported, what did the stream say? there were 2 formats?

Maybe mp3's are and I didn't pay attention but I'll try and find the stream.

Not working here, too.

Tried 192kbit/s and 320kbit/s .mp3, none of them are playing. (none of 117 .mp3-files)

I assume something is broken?

They actually showed a .MP3 in the stream, and said that .ogg also works.

Now I know this is obvious, but I'll still ask ok.....you are putting your mp3s/ogg files here?

yes, they are in the correct Folder.

I'm going to bed so I can't test it, but also check if your bitrate is vbr or cbr meaning variable or constant bitrate. So far my mp3's are working, but can't check right now. I know some of them had higher or lower bitrate. Also no problems with extreme big mp3 files that play for an hour.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But i am not sure yet what one has to do. Still testing.

Ok it seem to work.

Sucessrate currently 100% while choosing low with mp3. While choosing a converter keep it simple i guess.

So far testing a .ogg file on one of my rides (one of the MP3s that was not working) and so far it's been working like a charm. Gonna do some further testing on other rides and in-park speakers with other files..

Update 1 - Tried a few .Ogg files (you can convert using Audacity (freeware software) on my Larson looper ride and has been working.

Update 2 - Park speakers also like .Ogg.

With this said I'd honestly stick with this format for the time being.

converted everything to .ogg, not working at all.

I assume that it at least is partly broken.

Custom music for standard .mp3 format is a no-go for me. The default Frontier .mp3's work without a hitch. But as soon I try to fire up some AC/DC I am met with silence.

Somehow, I like to believe this feature is fully implemented in the game. Or it may be a glaring bug. I hope this gets sorted a.s.a.p. Thanks for the suggestions. [happy]

Hey everyone...

Of all people this could happen to...i was one of them, how ironic ;)

When you put your mp3's in the folder does the game list them? (Are you able to select them?)
In my case i am able to select them, but it just keeps being silent then. So for one or another reason it won't play the mp3.

A workaround for me has been to convert the mp3 into a .ogg file (there is free software out there that can help you with this).
If the same workaround works for you guys as well then it might be easyer for Frontier devs to narrow down the problem and make it more easy to fix it :)

And ofcourse it's worth trying so you can all enjoy this wonderfull feature :)

I am able to select my files, but as you pointed out, I get no sound whatsoever. I downloaded the program, but it seemed to difficult for me to understand.[haha]

Add me on steam (or even better come to the discord chat) and i can try to talk you trough it. Its really easy.
And if ogg does work indeed, we might be doing Frontier a favor by narrowing down the problem. :)

I had to convert my mp3 to ogg with Audacity to get it to work, however the volume at 100% still seems kind of low. I hope that Frontier can increase it.
