Custom paint on Xbox One?

Did a quick search but didn't find anything to answer my question, so....

Are paint jobs for our ships going to become available?

Also what about changing dashboard colours or voice commands like you can on PC?

Yes, no, and no. For the ship paintjob's you can actually go to the Frontier Store and start looking to see which you'll buy(they'll all be paid DLC in XBL Marketplace likely) when they do arrive.

Thanks i will take a look.
Sad to see the other two features wont make an appearance, i now hate the colour orange haha

Paint jobs are happening "Soon"(TM). Which probably means next year.

HUD colours are set. FD said that it would take more work than you think to be able to change them (though they'll look into it).

Voice commands there's been no word (as far as I know).

Don't think they have ruled out the changing colours to dashboard but it would must likely be a predefined set of 5 different options if anything.

Paint jobs i could bet money on they will be out sooner rather than later, they are another cash cow for Frontier.

Changing the hud colors on PC is so damn simple, how hard can it be to incorporate this on Xbox?
On PC they alter the game code, it's not FDev's code that you see when a PC player has Blue, red, or other collor's plus I hear there have been glitches caused by altering the code but as I've not tried it I've no idea if that's rumor or fact.

I know exactly how to do it on PC. It is slightly more complicated than it was to change to a custom HUD color on Fallout New Vegas. A simple XML file edit is all it takes.

Aye they're easy to change on PC but you're essentially forced to change RGB values for ALL colours simultaneously. Almost like placing a kind of coloured filter over the top of everything.

it seems really odd, maybe it's some side effect of the engine they use, and so fixing that means various workarounds.

I was looking forward to paintjobs til I saw the prices of them. That new gold conda, tenner. And you know they'll be the same price as pc lest they kick up a fuss.

They use those sale's to fund the ongoing development of Elite, so they're worth it to those like me who see themselve's playing ED for year's to come. ;)

Frontier has stated they are not going to support kinect for this game. A real shame since they obviously know how to incorporate in games. Look at Zoo Tycoon.

If we're incorporating elements of other Frontier games I want to go down to the surface of Earth with the submersible/hovering/flying ship from V2000.

And I want to build rollercoasters on the moon :D

I've already picked mine out and have a fiver ready to throw in Frontier's direction as soon as they're willing to take it from me!

I don't need voice commands but if they added the radio sound effect the pc have I would be over the moon( get it get it) if you are not familiar there are videos of pc players and their chatter has all the beep and sqwack like its a real nasa radio

Technically, custom paint jobs are already in the Xbox version. Npcs are already sporting them. They just haven't been made available to the players.

Indeed. The game itself has everything it needs I believe, it's just a case of making them available as DLC in the Xbox store.
