custom rides?

is it (or will it be) possible to add rides of your own such as roller coasters, flat rides, transportation rides, ect? if not the devs should really get on it!

Its not possible right now. Never say never but personally i don't think this will be implemented as rides are pretty complicated nowdays.

I will move this thread to the suggestions forums [happy]

Or instead of 100% custom rides, maybe more editing options for existing rides? For example, a ride that spins guests around could look like a complete different ride if you could change not only the color scheme, but the cars/seats the guests ride in, maybe get a few different choices of superstructure, and different "themes."

For example, a ride is a carousel when there are horses, but change it to cars, give it a new paint job and color scheme, and now it's the Thunderbolt. That sort of thing.

The rides are unfortunately the part of the game with the least variety. And I know that's understandable, but this game has been so innovative and fantastic that I think it can push the envelope further.

Dont think custom rides will ever be a "thing" its really hard to implement.

Another program called Theme Park Studio might be more up your ally. Its not really a game. There is no management what so ever. And visually its really outdated. But you can customize EVERYTHING.

Would be almost impossible to implement in a game as this is more of game development instead of an actual game. You'd have to work with animations, angles, coordinates, modeling, texturing, lights, whatnot I have no idea on earth how difficult it would be.

I'd suggest getting into "Garry's Mod" if you want to design, build, control and ride your own rides from scratch. Once you get the hold of it the possibilities are endless. You make seats and motors and hydraulics and sounds and special effects etc and parent or weld one thing to another. This is what you need if you want to do this. You can make more than just rides, also vehicles and robots etc. But it is gonna take some time learning it. But still doing this in gmod is probably way easier than how frontier creates their rides.

I honestly don't see the game lasting nearly as long as RTC3 without custom rides. Real custom content, and not some 2000 piece prebiult sets are what keep the RTC3 community alive to this day.

As for the complexity of the rides, I am not sure if the previous commenters have ever seen the kind of content modders have made in the past, but I am more than sure that talented modders are capable enough to produce quality rides. Either we have to wait for frontier to make an official modding package (which they claimed they might at some point), or we have to create our own modding tools.

Modeling and animating isn't the hard part here guys, what is difficult is making work with the framework which frontier is using.
