Customers bypassing rides.

I'm still fairly new and one thing has me confused. Sometimes I add a ride along an established path and when I open the ride... no one goes in for a long time. Is this normal?

Also, sometimes when I'm opening up a hew section customers will not go into it. Is this a placement issue? I have the park section right next to one another so it isn't like they have to walk a long way.

What am I missing or doing wrong?

Thanks for any help!

Can you show us the park and issue with the help of some pictures?

it can take a while for people to get around. It takes time to learn how people react to certaon rides and their habits. In 1 park people could go crazy for a ride but in another park they don’t. With the scenario editor (which was supposed to come out today) will let u set the entry point, multiple ones, so people can get to different areas. Its all strategy

see what people are saying about the ride, if they r just passing by it. Click on the ride amd it should be the first tab. It might be not exciting enough or to expensive.

a number of things can prevent guests from riding your rides, things like the price of your rides for eg if you have a high entrance fee and high ride fees they will not pay for that rides because its to expensive, also your ride prestige affects your guests too, try placing some scenery around that ride and your prestige for that ride will go up, however you can disable ride prestige in the setting menu, another tip to try is don't have your rides too close together. hope this helps

It might as well be a path that is not connected. Solututions are now based on speculations.

Some pictures might give more info.

Here are a few. Hope they are big enough.

This is one are where few seem to go, There is a big crowd on the main path, but few seem to go off of it.

Fixed the issue of not showing the pictures. :p Now I can study them.
I've placed them behind the spoiler so they won't take the entire page.

It looks like there are 2 problems.
- paths are not wide enough which causes an congestion in the vincinity of the tracked rides (go-karts, automobiles).
- Tracked rides draw all the attention, this is probably due to having a way higher prestige then the other rides (but tracked rides are also too popular in this game for the guests.) In turn this also adds to the congestion.

Okay, thank you for the info. I had not thought of that.

Also, how did you get the photos to show up? I inserted the way this forum seems to operate. What did I miss? Or, is does thid forum have something different that I am missing?

BTW, I know enough about PCs to operate them okay. But, I am not the most computer savvy guy out there. [blah]

This is a problem that has been discussed quite a lot, but the devs havent put much attention into balancing prestige or finances

Not yet. This is my second park so I am still learning a lot! lol I've seen the tutorial in sequencing so I am going to start working on that.

That's the ticket for you then. Get the prestige up higher, and peeps will want to ride.
The ideal target number varies for each ride. When you are tinkering, check the ride time in the test menu, to make sure it's a reasonable length. Some rides like Psychola adding one additional ride sequence adds like 2 minutes to the total ride time, which is ridiculous. That one is hard to "fine tune". Other rides, adding a sequence doesn't add that much time per sequence, so you can add more than you think. [wink]

I have a large, spread out park, and all my lines are full. From the 1400+ prestige coasters down to the 400+ prestige whirly rig. Balance out your high prestige rides across your park too. If you only have high prestige rides on one side of the park, most of your guests will stay there. I don't find the prestige feature needs much balancing. Some of the balancing comes down to the player. [wink]

There is a list somewhere of supposed "ideal" sequences that I have found to be rather inaccurate.[yesnod]
