Dinosaurs customize base stats in sandbox mode for each dinosaur?

Your Feature Request / Idea
Just was thinking this might be one of the better or more plausible ways for players to introduce a balance?

I just thought of this from not liking that any carnivore gets into a fight with an herbivore, you can assume its likely going to kill it. Then you can still gene splice everything freely if they are more balanced among the creatures to begin with.

criticisms/additions?

I don't like this way of fixing it. This should be approached by writing a smart, XXi century AI for dinosaurs and, maybe, dividing them into appropiate cathegories "internally".

But.....the system is 2 stats in a scripted animation fight.

That's why I'm putting a simple idea such as this or buffing herbivores stats to be competitive with carnivores. Of course I expect they will modify and improve the dinosaur AI in some form, but how far are they going to go??? Some of the best ideas here sound close to Frontier making a new game, throwing out old mechanics entirely.

I'm extremely skeptical of them doing something like that.

The system we currently have also allows you to modify those stats via gene splicing, anyway; in fact, you can have some herbivores with more attack stat than most carnivores.

Still, that of "close to Frontier making a new game" isn't that weird, in my opinion. Some of the best game developers have done at some point (Blizzard, for instance). Ackowledging one's mistakes is the first step for that and I can see it happening with some future expansion (note exp, not update, nor patch) should they indeed keep working on this game. Some mechanics would need a complete overhaul anyway, if they are to add flying and marine reptiles, and some other mechanics/assets at some point, anyway.

To actually buy that expansion, considering how they advertized this game and the end result... well, that will depend on how transparent they become and how good the coming updates result, I suppose.

But, currently, editing base stats has makes no sense to me (aside from gene splicing thing) because that would broke everything even more.

Skeptical I said yes, but I'm not saying they definitely will not either I understand it is possible. But then I'm thinking we are talking a big expansion 6 months to a year from now with that sort of content.

A Trike is useless with gene splicing compared what you could do with even a Styracosaurus. It's just a simple quick addition they could add in where you are able to change two numbers (attack & defense) that smoothly fits into the current system. Could be a sandbox setting or just further adding to the level of detail you are able to do with gene splicing.

But everyone has their own opinion obviously. Currently I'm thinking in terms of what can be done in the near future.
