I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the new content you've added as of late. And building my own starport and settlements has been incredible. But there's still something missing...you're not allowing the players to be creative in their own right. We can build, yes...but where's the originality? We're having to build more of what's already in the game with these cookie-cutter templates that you've already placed, just making more of the same. What would really make things interesting is the ability to build a CUSTOM BASE. This is a great opportunity for you to use BUILDING SCHEMATICS that are found on surface settlements as well as ARX. Using these with the different types of buildings that each player would have to 'unlock' with schematics and then building your custom base with different size landing pads and facilities. I want to build a settlement that has extraction drills and an agriculture dome but it also has a ship yard. And you also use other odyssey materials like SETTLEMENT DEFENCE PLANS to build defensive turrets and SURVEILANCE EQUIPMENT to add security. Depending on the planet type where we build these bases could of course determine the types of commodities available for purchase. Let us design the layout and place the buildings exactly where we want them and this could open up an entirely new arena for the game as we could then host our own GROUND CONFLICT ZONE at our base. Of course I'm sure that this would cause some SERIOUS server capacity so the number of personal bases you would allow each player to create would certainly have to be limited, making this customization a permanent fixture in the game would be a large endeavor for sure.
Vehicle and ship schematics: Unlocking ship yards and landing pad sizes could be made by using VEHICLE and SHIP SCHEMATICS.
Each building for the settlements should have to be unlocked with a certain number of building schematics. Two initial buildings should already be unlocked to begin with...The POWER BUILDING and the HABITAT BUILDING. Every other building should have to be unlocked with a certain amount of schematics to be determined by you. Especially since there are a few of the buildings that have different sizes/tiers. Once a building is unlocked...it remains unlocked for that player. Each time a building is added, the player must go and acquire the commodities to build that building. These customized bases could also be a way to expand the storage for items that the player has accrued over time...to help free up storage space on their Fleet Carrier. That being the case...a possible weekly upkeep could be implemented as it is done with the Fleet Carriers. And with them being custom...they should also have the security/limitations for Fleet Carriers as we should be able to determine who is/isn't allowed to land at our bases.
