Cutlass Cove - Fake water and transfer tracks!

Hey all!

I was testing different ideas the other day concerning water and transfer tracks, the tests grew and I've now got a full park on the go! It's all still work in progress but thought I'd share some pictures!

The water is made using parallel wide paths with the blue texture, these took ages to lay out and I'm at a point now that when I use the path editor the game hangs for a second or so each time I make an edit, I'll keep going until it breaks! The only problem is the small pavement circles where the corners meet but I have to live with that for now, it gets the point across and makes me even more excited for water to get added!

*UPDATE* I've created a ride cam for the coaster:

This is the best transfer track I've managed to make so far, I haven't seen anyone else try it yet so if you know of anyone and they have a better setup please let me know! I created another coaster station so I could sit an empty train there, unfortunately due to the width of the station I could only put one track section in.

Finally here is a collection of other shots from the park, it's still very much work in progress but I like where it's heading [happy]

Would love to hear any comments or any other ideas for transfer tracks! The coaster isn't complete yet I still want to add a mid course brake run and add some more track, when it's complete I'll post a video of the ride cam.

Beautiful area! the blue path simulating water is the only solution for now :( But is a nice work so far. I need recommend any update for optimize some track sections on the coaster, the loops, look very facetted and ugly (low poly) to raise the polycount in this section, would make them heavier, yes, but also more elegant and realistic, and only in some parts, a tool for personalized the polycount. (sorry me english)

Thanks all!

@Albert - Yes hopefully as development progresses we will be given higher distance LODs so the tracks stay smooth from far away!

@coencoensmeets - Agreed on the water, it reminds me of the soft surfaces used in kids playgrounds but as it's such a bright blue I think it looks quite nice against the trees etc. :)

@Tom - Thanks, can't wait to fill it with actual water!

@oli414 - Oh that's a cool area, I see you've got a video up I'm going to watch it now!

@alecish - Haha I like your thinking, I think I'll use that story :) I did try covering them up with bush and rocks but they all ended up looking too uniform as well and brought even more attention to them, water jets it is! [yesnod]

Amazing job with the water, I've been using fountains then covering the edges with rocks to simulate water...the effect is ok but really time consuming; but by no means is a vast lake/ ocean like this.

Looks fantastic!

This looks awesome!!! I can't wait to see what you're able to do once they release some water editing options with their tools.

keep up the awesome work and be sure to show us what you're working on often! [yesnod]

@Kimbers - Thank you! Ah I didn't try the fountains but I can imagine it took a while due to their shape and size. The coaster does a couple of runs through the mountain and I can appreciate how long it took you to make your caves, mine aren't turning out anywhere near as good!

@Mellie_Be - Cheers! I can't wait to get my hands on the water, I wanted the island to be above sea level but I didn't want handrails on all the paths so I had to keep it all flat. Bring on the terrain tools!

Hey all, I've just recorded a ride cam for the coaster if you want to check it out.

@Piedro82 - Haha go for it, it takes a bit of patience once the area gets too big as every new piece you put down takes longer to process due to the game having to update the navigation but it's been fun!
