Cutters and Corvettes

They are not miners so they won’t be extracting. And in lore, they are the most prized military vessels so won’t be used for random piracy or lowly policing.

At a guess...

AFAIK they are only in conflict zones, although I have come across a npc cutter parked on a planet before.

I guess either frontier "forgot" to add them to npc's for general use in the game or simply just didn't add them because they thought they might be too hard for players to kill.

Plus frontier really love the Anaconda.

I think it's for the reason Graxxor mentioned. Although you do see other military ships there (federal irons, clippers).

On a related side note, anytime FD wants to change the spawn tables so that NPCs don't mine in a gunship, that would be great.

Why are they never in High and Low Resource extraction sites ?

Seek out the highest paying "Pirate Lord Assassination Missions". The ones that pay over 2 million credits.

9 times out of 10, you will face off against a Threat Level 4 Corvette. That is an Elite Piloted / Engineered NPC Vette. MUCH tougher ship than any ships you will find in a CZ, including the rare Vette or Cutter that might show up there on rare occasions.

Oh! and if it isn't a Vette, it will be an equally buffed Conda. Don't know why, but Cutters are not included in these top end Pirate Lord missions.

These are my favorite missions in the game at the moment. But don't go in there with an Asp X or anything lower than a well buffed Python or better.

I suggest an A rated and fully G5 upgraded Corvette.

They never were there to begin with, and while the ships got added to the game they never were added to the spawn tables.

This I reckon. I remember when the vulture came out, it was a couple of updates before the NPCs started using them. I've seen Corvette Pirate lords (mission targets) and in CZs, not seen one in supercruise.

omg I was asking my friend this same question other day =D
Now that I have a fully engineered corvette I LOOOVE taking on NPC corvettes and cutters....so satisfying. Hell even give me wings of anacondas! :3 Sadly they only spawn in assassination missions or conflict zones QQ

They are the top tier ships in the game. I saw Cutters all the time in Haz RES sites in Empire space this week. Some of them were even somewhat challenging to my engineered Corvette, which is a big deal considering they are NPCs. I normally mow right through NPCs.

Also...I see Cutters in High Intensity Combat Zones as well. They are actually common there.

Also my favorite activity.

How about a courier, with only 310mj shield and G5 lightweight weapons? :D

I get the odd mission target in them on assassination jobs, but they are rare. Which is just as it should be as they are military ships with only a few people stupid enough (me included there) to spend hours grinding the rank needed for them.

All the rest have been opened to everyone at some time if I remember rightly. I certainly had my Clipper before I had the rank. So a lot more common for multiple reasons.

Just be glad we got Anacondas back... Those were sad days when a Python was the largest wanted ship at an RES. But I completely agree. We need more Cutters and Corvettes to pew pew at. I usually encounter them at a CZ or as police.
