CV1 Owners: Please report your colour issues as bugs so we get a fix in next release.

I was thinking; I don't have my CV1 and will not for a while. But I want Elite to look it's best in it when it gets here. In DK2 Elite looks washed out with 1.3. Dark colours have become brighter while pure black still is there causing smearing. Something is going on with the gamma curve, gradients have lost their smoothness. DK2 is not supported and will not qualify as a bug report. There was a bug report about smearing but is became kind of derailed since it was mostly from DK2 owners. Could we have some CV1 owners make new bug reports about how they experience the dark colours, banding in gradients and resulting smearing please. This because I see alot of issues mentioned about this with CV1 but I don't really see any bug reports about it.

i must have really bad eye for detail as i dont see any major issues with CV1.. no banding or bad colours.

The odd rays caused by Freznels but nothing to annoy me unless i want to get bent outa shape about something.

I am very happy to hear that! Well, the fact that there are almost no bug reports about it may mean exactly that, there are no issues, but from reading on reddit and forums I became convinced there were and at the same time a little confused why there were no real bug reports about it.

I must say I really love how the colors look now in CV1. Stars background and planets and suns feel a bit desaturated, which is great to not get eyes tired in two minutes. I would say that the glare effect due to fresnel lenses is a bit annoying specially in UI elements. It is usper ok in sun light beaming inside the ship. It creates a great effect in this case, but for UI elements I have needed to reduce UI brightness because is a bit annoying. Anyway to reduce this effect would be a good add.

Other than the occasional "god ray", which to be honest hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I feared, I've been supremely happy with the move from DK2 to CV1 in ED. So far I haven't really had to change my graphics config from what I was using for the DK2 either, although I may now change my HUD colour, since the green I've been using no longer seems to be as compulsory as it once was for readability before CV1.

Can't say I've noticed the smearing that I've heard about. In fact, the only "bug" I've found is that I have to keep returning to this reality thing where I'm expected to eat/drink/sleep and even worse "work" *ugh*!

This is a DK2 issue.

This exact same thing used to happy for me every now and then with the older runtimes and was fixable with a reboot, with 1.3 it's now permanent and I've not found a way to fix it. This makes me suspect that it's actually a Oculus issue and not some thing Frontier can fix directly. They can still pass the issue on to Oculus, but honestly I think that Oculus should be spending their time chasing any CV1 issues rather then DK2 ones (and I'm saying that as a DK2 user who isn't expecting a CV1 to arrive until about July).

This is not just a DK2 issue.... I have a CV1, 980gtx.. and Indeed I have some very real Color gradient issues... Especially noticeably when close to a star the fade from Orange to Black is just nasty..... I have not noticed any smearing though, which is great!!.. Unfortunately (too me) it feels like 8-bit color... not pleasant... I'm using HDMI direct, and I've tried to set the video settings to full 0-255 thingy but it has no effect I think because CV1 is fully direct mode now.....

If anyone with a CV1 has come up with a solution I would love to hear it...
