CV1 to Reverb guide

Hi!

Tried the reverb a little while back, was blown away with the visuals. Decided to pull the trigger on one for myself, V2 version. Is there a detailed guide on moving from the CV1? ED is currently only installed through Oculus home. Do I have to reinstall? If so, will the standalone or steam version link to my current keybindings etc etc. I haven't needed to mess around with my install in a long time.

Cheers

I did this a long time ago and a lot of it is more basic than someone like you needs 777, but had a glance through and I'm fairly sure it's still good.

Note the but about turning on reprojection if you need it, WMR is a lot less user friendly than oculus.
Your bindings should be party of the elite install, back them up though.

Seem a part on here where someone had trouble getting oculus to NOT run after switching to wmr, don't know what their solution was.

Not at home and on phone or I'd tidy up my old post but it should point you the right way.

Edit: install drkaii's edprofiler if you haven't already

Good move CMDR!

For now all you need to do is switch reprojection to 'auto' in config file.

Both non-beta schannels of WMR plugin and Steam VR have clarity fixes for WMR, but i am still using both 'beta' channels.

current keybindings
C (or your installation) Drive >Users (You) > AppData >Local >Frontier Developments >Elite Dangerous >Options >Bindings

Copy & Paste the Bindings folder somewhere safe before uninstalling Elite Dangerous.

When you have installed the new launcher, the above files won't exist, as they get created on launch. In the game, key any button into the controls section, so that a custom file is created. Exit the game and locate the bindings file in the same location as before (inside the folder, there is a 'Custom 3.0 binds' file; that's your bindings), and replace it with the one that you copied earlier.

Cheers guys, was very straight forward. No need to uninstall the Oculus version (unless you need space) I downloaded a separate standalone, it reads the same bindings etc from my app data folder, was no need to copy files.

The game is absolutely stunning in the reverb! 100% worth the upgrade over the CV1, and that was amazing imo

I'm still rocking the CV1. I am interested in the Reverb. Does it play nice with a 1080ti? I don't want to spend the money on it just to realize I need to buy a 2080ti.

Didn't see this before Worminator. I use a 1080ti with the Reverb, mostly Ultra setting with reprojection kicking in around busy areas (entering stations etc)
