Ahoy Crew!
The Cycle 17 begins as the last one (
As for last few Cycles, spent pushing for acquisitions, the latter was characterized (in general) by more or less the same pattern besides some Powers had greater reinforcements activity. In terms of relevance, this activity unfortunately remains relegated almost exclusively to mining... notwithstanding it is subject to some conditions. For systems without mining resources, Powers need to find alternatives, such as trading, bounty hunting in RES or CNB (
Mining also plays an important role for acquisitions and, in some cases, for undermining. All this to say that for each Power (and even more so for those who also have rank-unlocked perks) having experienced miners is fundamental... to the point that Powers are technically transforming into mining companies. It's not that there is the need to review the "weight" of mining in Powerplay 2.0, but among the "counter" activities a review would rather be welcome. The priority goes obviously to combat activities, in addition to the need to fix the annoying bugs that afflict the PCZs.
Anyway, some frontlines continue to be hot as in recent weeks: the confrontation between the Federation and the gypsy Kaine (around Asetsi/Santa Muerte) is noteworthy; and same for the beef between Empire and Federation in Beta Hydri (ultimaterly acquired by president Archer) and Amitae (where aunt Winters got surpassed by the young Duval). Elsewhere the techo-maniac Yong-Rui prevailed in CD-26 369, a colonial system controlled by the East India Company.
Enemy activity also near Archon Delaine's territories: the jelly Patreus took HIP 111880 (in the Sentec area) and 17 Beta Piscis Austrini… then [
Ross 750, despite being a small system with 9 million inhabitants and officially governed by the Wolves of Jonai dictatorship, has been the scene of numerous civil wars between minor factions. One of these, Phoenix Down (originally from Gendenwitha) has long been harassed by the Wolves and, after years of confrontation, ended up losing influence and control of many systems (including their home one!). The Phoenix had long ago established an important trade route with the mining traffickers of Archon Delaine, until some hippies belonging to the Antal found out about it...
To hinder Delaine's miners, hippies got in touch with the Wolves and bribed, offering credits and their
Despite the defeat suffered at Ross 750, Cycle 16 ended with a positive +5 new systems (+3 fortified) balance for Archon Delaine. Other enemy undermining attempts occurred and required immediate response to be neutralized, such as at Dhanka (with reinforcements coordinated by fellow scallywag and multi-Cursed Dubloon winner, CMDR Crud "Crudler" Norris), HIP 114588, Munfayl and Parhua. A few of these were already targeted in previous cycles and again (
Regarding others’ statistics to mention: the techo-nerd Yong-Rui took the lead again as the most expansionist Power (+16 systems), followed by president Archer (+11) and [
For the next Cycle 17, REINFORCEMENT and [
