Ahoy Crew!
It's not the first time tha something similar has happened in the video game industry (
Is Trailblazers a game changer?
Our answer is "YES"... because it breaks one of the constraints on which the "political" structure of the game is based, namely the possibility of expanding the number of inhabited systems. The increased (from 10LY) 15LY limit [
Squadrons (or the incoming “Vanguards”), with or without PMFs, groups and various communities (but also particularly eager individual players) will literally be able to design and build their territories, as they prefer. Leaving aside the BGS (which we don't care much about), Trailblazers/Colonisation offers very interesting actions/options for PP2. Very likely some dedicated groups or specialised players (“settlers”?) will be seen within the various powerplay communities [to better manage manpower]… given that it will be possible to colonise (and therefore acquire) systems with [
In other words, the range of strategic options and gameplay (why not looking to engage or to pirate “space settlers”?) is going to be greatly expanded.
At this point, all that remains is to test it and hope for the best.
The game update also brought some [
Let's look now at powerplay in the last week: in Cycle 17 no big luck for the president Archer (+5 systems) as the support of the Nemo Corporation allowed the bear Grom (+1) to gain control in CC Eri, whilst the bald Antal (+3) did also win the 2.9bn populated Lalande 8441. At HIP 58180 the two Duval families fought really hard for control (last evening was like 800/600 CPs)... and donna Arissa (+5) emerged victorious against the young Aisling (+4): is that another potential source of attrition and disagreement within the Imperium alliances? Intriguing… not a fantastic Cycle for all of them, considering that granny Torval closed at 0 new systems and the jelly Patreus was the only one power with a negative (-1) Cycle count.
Elsewhere in Nyx, adjacent to the Minerva system (where the second CG linked to the Colonisation feature, is taking place and where our scallywags led by CMDR HairyHogg keep robbing haulers), the clash between the two most prominent technomancers saw the hippie Pranav emerge victorious over the nerd Yong-Rui (+16, again the most expansionist Power). A "favor" that the latter claimed back by taking over the small Wulwulan extraction system (controlled by the Intergalactic Hitchhiker's Coalition).
In Archon Delaine's territories (+4 new systems, a new fortified as well as a new stronghold), the Crew focused on reinforcements... both on new recent acquisitions (such as Kaushu) and in particular to counter enemy undermining activity (mainly at Munfayl, LTT 9299, HIP 114588, Parhua and Jadimo). For all those systems being undermined the Archon recommends to deploy ground patrols, with particular attention to all anarchy settlements. At least having such busy enemies mean that there was no significant opposition to the acquisitions, just a touch for HIP 93377, besides not too far the Teaka’s controlled Svanticani ended up in the claws of the bear(ded) Grom. With the new update [
For the next Cycle 18, REINFORCEMENT targets are scheduled and ready to be shared as soon as possible… no need to repeat that the strengthening of Delaine’s frontlines remains the top priority. Stay tuned on Tortuga Radio Frequencies for the incoming updates!!!
FOR THE ARCHON!!!
