Short cycle report this week as it was a rather uneventful week for Torval and the galaxy at large, with many powers taking this cycle to consolidate the large gains made in previous weeks.
With our focus on securing all of our acquisitions from last week's massive jump, this week was rather slow acquisition-wise. Continuing fortunes in East India Company Territory allowed for the acquisition of 4 more of their systems. Elsewhere, the large agricultural hub of LTT 9028 was brought under Torval control, along with the Syntieni adjacent LHS 116. The only contested expansion of the week came from a spat with Aisling over the mining rights to Crucis Sector GH-M a7-2, where our miners put in a huge 250k control score in less than a day.
Our only Upgrade of the cycle came in the mining hub of Hyperborea, which was reinforced by Nova Navy operatives into a stronghold.
Across the wider empire, Princess Aisling retook her spot as the fastest growing power with a somewhat underwhelming 13 systems..., Emperor Arissa was 4 behind with a net gain of 9 systems, whilst Patreus stuck by his motto of "slow and steady wins the race" taking 1 new system this cycle.
The Alliance had an extremely slow cycle this week, Kaine's low gains of 4, were expected as reinforcing 52 new systems took its toll. However, Mahon only getting 2 systems is very poor by their standards, losing even more ground on Aisling can't be good for their morale. Perhaps winning the new community goal against their alliance counterparts may help to breathe some life back into him.
The federation finally did something worth talking about this week, with both Archer and Winters gaining 9 systems alongside solid reinforcements. No doubt Winter's is eager to try and extend her gap over Torval, which has been pushed out to 42 this week, from its recent low of 40.
Among the independents, the Kumo crew has been slowing down over the past couple of weeks, only taking 2 systems this week. One must wonder whether the pirate king is cooking up a new operation to bully Patty, or maybe some other unlucky power. Antal and LYR had identical stats to last week with 6 and 9, respectively, as they continue to carve out their secluded corner of the galaxy. Grom's situation seems to be slightly improving as attacks are slowing down, however, it is still significantly hindering his ability to expand. Only 4 new systems were gained this week due to the loss of 3 systems.
As Cblue was unavailable this week, the leaderboard looks different from normal, with Lekug now taking top spot in the same week he reaches rank 3000!. New faces on the leaderboard include CMDR [Character not found] [Character not found] [Character not found] [Character not found] in third, as well as Loner76, Lucianblackvein, Meceto, and Jake Throttle who finally managed to break the top 10 after a few weeks of close calls. 5 of the top 10 were TSPA members.
Looking at the squadron leaderboards at the time of writing TSPA has reduced the gap to Swords of Makhai to 5 million merits. With Cblue back this week and the Kaine-Mahon community goal, hopefully the gap will close further. Whilst FLC could still get top spot, it would require a massive effort from here to the end of the season.
