Powerplay Faction: Zemina Torval Cycle 33: For Those Who Mine The Rocks (We salute you o7)

1st this cycle in aquisitions and 1st place on the leaderboard!, I'm pretty sure the last time Torval partied this hard was back in Cycle 100 of 1.0 (at that stage we were first place believe it or not).

What a week for Torval, 14 new systems were acquired this week, with zero losses sustained. Spirits were high quite early in the week, after the acquisition of the Donner system, many of our pilots stopped by Fryto-kebab Terminal to enjoy a quick snack. This allowed us to power through and grab the nearby system Weir and the EIC colony of Sin (please name the station Sin City I am beginning you), as well as a bunch of other random strings of numbers and letters (System renaming please Fdev I'm sick and tired of Col 285 sector .............).
Elsewhere, we continued to grow around Torval's second capital LTT 198, with 6 new systems being taken inside its radius. Outside of these two operations, Sanna was taken and a contested fight against LYR saw us gain control of the highly sought Capoos system.
Sadly, we did not receive Lu Yupik back this week, despite it being a victim of the same exploit used to attack a number of high-profile systems. With the only systems rolled back being Sol and Alpha Centauri... (more clues that the Federation is Fdev's favoured child).

It was a slow week for others, due to the disabling of data pads (again), Aisling was second amongst ZYADA with a diminished but solid 9 for the week. Grom followed this with 5 new systems and looks to be slowly recovering now that the exploit is (supposedly) fixed. God Emperor of All Arissa, was rather slow this week with only 4 systems (likely due to the CG), though I don't think she will be pleased by us taking Angra Mainyu (unplanned) as it sits just 24Ly from Kamadhenu. Denton had a good cycle for reinforcement, but this compromised his growth this week, managing 3 new strongholds and 4 new forts, but only 1 new system. The Admiral better get a move on if he wants to avoid the wooden spoon.

The Federation has had a strong week, after spending a lot of resources on the defence of Sol in previous cycles, Many of Archers players were finally freed up to go on the attack, resulting in 10 new acquisitions. Meanwhile Winters are moving fast but not fast enough to keep their distance from us, with the gap closing by 8 this week as they only managed 6 new systems.
It's all quiet on the Alliance Front, both Kaine and Mahon only got 4 new systems each, with the only thing of note being a hard fought contest between Kaine and Archer in Ross 145 that they narrowly lost. I imagine Flat Galaxy Society will change that this week, now that soontills are back on the table again they will embark on their monthly charge up the powerplay leaderboard.

LYR is proving to be an unstoppable force in powerplay 2.0 taking 10 systems this week, considering he acts with the consistency and efficiency of a machine, one must wonder whether he has been secretly replaced by Sirius Corporation robot of his likeness... Whilst we are on the topic of conspiracy theories, the space-hippy Antal, managed a healthy 6 systems, keeping them right on the tail of Councillor Kaine. Last of all, Delaine. The Pirate King only managed to take 2 new systems this week due to a focus on the community goal. Unluckily for them, putting more focus on the community goal didn't help against the overwhelming force of ZYADA... (if only we had that much passion when it came to doing powerplay rather than just community goals)

Now on to Squadron Stuff!!!
With 3 winners in the last 3 leaderboard cycles, it is safe to say that the fight for first place powerplay squadron has become extremely competitive since the launch of 2.0. Our goals for this first cycle at full strength were only to maybe get top 3, we had no idea we would get TSPA all the way to first, especially when Swords of Makhai were almost 6 million ahead with 2 weeks to go. Massive congratulations to all involved in the effort, and a special thanks to Lekug and CBlue, who probably accounted for half of all the merits we made. Hopefully, we can maintain this momentum going into the Vanguards update, and maybe we will get the clean sweep on the new 10 person, 25 person and open categories.

In terms of the weekly leaderboard, Lekug narrowly got stuck in a CBlue sandwich, while a few new faces like Chaisher, Adamir2, and Pathfinder99 made the top 10.

Whilst Torval may be 134, she is still the hottest thing in powerplay right now...: https://discord.gg/MhTmy2CDky
