No one is talking about efficiency here, we were talking about organisation and player effort/skill. And in that sense, total effective merits is a far more useful measure that efficiency.
Cargo swapping can certainly be used for 5th column, and if you don't think so, well, that's rather stupid of you. Systems can be undermined in mere minutes with the investment of a few million credits, whilst at the same time making a huge amount of merits for the other party.
I highly doubt that every single one of your profitable systems is undermined "by default". In fact, I know for a fact that's rubbish.
Well, you also know for a fact that our profitable systems are close to us, so your relationship with facts isn't among the best ones. I'll make sure to get you a late Wednesday night screenshot just so that you can enjoy our space being all red at the bottom where all the really big profit systems are. Can't say I don't make sure for your amusement then.
And no, total effective merits doesn't mean anything other than being a metric that suits your argument. Efficiency is by definition the metric of skill and organization. Something that is demonstrated by Mahon and Winters, not Aisling.
