An epic cycle. Felicia Winters made a serious play for her long-term target Dongkum, racking up more than a million merits. Given other priorities, opposing this conventionally was not feasible, so ZYADA pilots set about balance-cancelling Winters by undermining as many of her control systems as possible by end of cycle. Seeing this threat, Winters blanket-fortified but could not preserve sufficient CC to pay for the expansion, ZYADA scored a famous victory.
Elsewhere, Zachary Hudson’s expansions to Caspatsuria and HIP 95350 were blocked by more conventional means. The Feds looked to have the edge against Uncle Yuri’s expansion to Mislika, but a late bomb won this profitable sphere for Grom. Granny Torval’s latest bid for Pollux was stopped but provided extra cover for Grom’s late effort.
Another huge effort by Aisling’s haulers kept our defences strong. Again we completely fortified the whole Trello list, and maintained our consolidation vote at 86%. There was noticeably less 5C hauling against us to HIP 1572 the sabotage effort falling below 100,000 merits for the first time in recent history. Remember: voting is the easiest and most powerful way to help. If you have been pledged 4 weeks or more, please earn or keep at least 100 merits so you can vote.
Fdev dropped a bombshell on Wednesday: from Tuesday next Odyssey and Horizons 4.0 will be decoupled from the other game modes for BGS and Powerplay purposes. This is a further bitter blow to console players and those without the means to run Odyssey, and very bad news for many cross-platform communities, including ourselves.
The Princess sends sincere thanks and congratulations to all our pilots for the successes of the past week, but especially to those who now find themselves stuck in ‘legacy mode’ and unable to contribute any further to the ‘live’ galaxy. - Check the Trello for dynamic fortification targets! This is updated more frequently than the in-game menu. Please, ONLY fortify systems listed on the Trello. There are lots of top-priority systems left to help complete.
- Please do not prepare any systems this week. Spare media materials can be safely delivered to HIP 35209.
- Combat merits: oppose Felicia Winters’ expansion to Panorua.
