The landmark 400th Powerplay cycle was defined by the fall-out from ZYADA’s controversial actions at the close of C399. Torrid exchanges at the summit of the great powers hosted by the Defence Council of Humanity echoed across the Milky Way, a great fable of humanity’s perennial failure to unite in the face of a common external threat.
Observers, moderators, and the traditionally neutral powers winced as furious invective, recriminations, and paranoia (on both sides of the Federal/Imperial divide, to be fair) blended with the airing of historic grievances, resulting in a failure to agree a narrative. This was a veritable blizzard of salt capable of melting a G5 heavy duty reactive composite Cutter hull, and exhausting.
But the main thing was that the talks continued. ZYADA elected to not interfere with Felicia Winters’ turmoil, so she lost no spheres. But perhaps points had been made, and cycle 401 dawned with general relief, and a markedly different atmosphere between the ambassadors.
Amid the diplomatic storm, Hudson’s expansion to Chang O was opposed, and not seriously contested. Kumo-Burger King Archon Delaine was looking to open new franchises over in the California Nebula, to the consternation of the Alliance’s Turner Research Group. Impassively, the thargoids continued to eat up the bubble, fatigued AX pilots had their payouts nerfed by the erratic God-hand of Braben.
All the powers attempted consolidation, with only Denton Patreus falling short at 74%. The Imperial Beefcake is not expected to push the resulting blocker expansion to Caph. Aisling’s vote ended at a solid 84% consolidation, with her excellent haulers completing the entire Trello fortification target list, with a day to spare.
You guys have the Princess swooning! While keeping our guard up, let’s go shoot some ‘goids.
Objectives for Cycle 401 (until February 9th)

Objectives for Cycle 401 (until February 9th)
- Vote for Consolidation! Voting is the most important thing you can do for AD, so make sure to maintain rank 2! It only takes 100 merits and four weeks of pledge time. Here's where to vote in the UI. Early votes are the best kind of votes!
- Check the Trello for dynamic fortification targets! This is updated more frequently than the in-game menu. Please, ONLY fortify systems listed on the Trello. There are lots of top-priority systems left to help complete.
- Please do not prepare any systems this week. Spare media materials can be safely delivered to HIP 35209.
- Combat merits: by the terms of the Powerplay truce you can undermine Lei Kax. Please do not attack any other Federal systems.
- AX: the Imperial Xeno Defence target is to assist the liberation of HIP 29596. Evacuate passengers in cabins and wounded in pods, kill thargoids, complete AX CZs.
- Join the Discord for guides, mentoring, BGS, insight and combat targets! Remember: PP UI bad, Discord good. Powerplay is a community game, so connect with us.
