Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval Cycle 530/2.39 Have a Cigar (July 24th to 31st 2025/3311)

Always quietly at work, the dedication of our BGS department created a fourth great Soontill Relics boom in Ngurii. Wednesday’s BGS tick initiated a dizzying rush of 27 million acquisition merits on the last day of C530. Aisling’s renowned haulers switched away from the Minerva CG and got to it (+50, 1721).

Too many new systems to list, some highlights: Basterni, Bende, Brohman, Dew’xil, Estarna, Garrinbatz, Jiang, Kising, Lei Bei, Lozin, Madngela, Nummitra, Ryujin, Vesuvit, Yinsi, and Zagombo. The famous Kamitra cigars are to be distributed among our loyal pilots in celebration.

Other Cmdrs upset by the withdrawal of these luxury products from general sale should appeal to the Brabenite Gods of the Milky Way, not us. The clumsy, overzealous ban applied to various leisure goods from Aisling’s space is an established bone of contention.

Santy, scene of the fiercest contest of the recent 3-way CG, had already been acquired before the rush. We saw little resistance there, but Joe Archer (+10, 869) put up a fight in LTT 6988. A lead of 90k CPs by Li Yong Rui (+28, 1068) was overcome in LHS 2. He also lost out in Lakheo and GCRV 4259. Mahon (+12, 1598) came second in a photo-finish in Semayah.

Late attacks by other powers in Geirobri and the fortified Tripitaka were seen off with minutes to spare. We couldn’t save the fortified status of Chuang, but our undermining of Yash was enough to divert Kumo Crew (+3, 690) from further mischief against dishy Denton Patreus (+5, 672).

Respect is due to Cmdrs who focused on the less glamorous task of securing previous gains. We achieved five new fortified systems (net) including Apikuna, Aracenus, CD-71 1795 and Jaroua. Two new strongholds HIP 114004 and HIP 100063 were created. Regular contender [AD] AusVip smashed the leaderboard with an astonishing 3.6 million merits.

Enjoy the boom while it lasts! Have fun out there. Vote no to slavery, yes to cigars.

Using it to block off an engineer unlock - and a fairly important one, at that - is certainly a good way to force the issue.

Nicely done.
Or, that it actually has consequences to fight over.

The massive problem PP2 has is that it has exactly no reasons to fight, not unless you have situations like these.

If anything FD should make more situations like this where Powers have effects that are far reaching.

Though the motive is nothing without the means. It certainly should be possible for pledges of the other 11 powers combined, plus a bunch of neutrals grabbing whatever flag of convenience they can find for the week, to undermine Kamitra and rescue the cigars from the puritanical Duval. Is it?

(60 points of undermining so far! Go team!)
