All the charts are based upon the official data from the sticky post in this sub forum, ALD and Delaine stats include expansion merits from previous weeks.

ALD and Hudson closed the merit gap with Aisling by both of them having expansions, it was nearly like the old days.
Excluding the previous weeks merits would move ALD from 1st to 3rd in merits, and Delaine would move down from 6th to 9th.

Groms merits continue their slide down, and Sirius continues to be separate from the "little 6" powers.
Mahon and Torval are able to get away with a tiny number of merits to maintain their 1st and 2nd galactic rankings, and Aislings preparation merits were larger than the 4th placed powers total merits again.

Unknown Merits

Winters sustained the most undermining by far, followed by Delaine and Mahon.
Much of the attacking merits was in expansion opposition, which includes merits from the previous weeks.
Sirius had one system undermined again, but Aisling and Patreus also had one system undermined this week.

Antal and Torval had 0 systems undermined again, but Torval had some small opposition against her expansion.

Winters also only got 1 system undermined, although she got a total of 300000 undermining merits. 180000 was in Bunda, which did undermine it, but over 50000 merits was put into Neche, which isn't enough to undermine that system.

There was a total of 5452861 merits last cycle, a big 45% increase from the total number of merits from 3 weeks ago, but this total includes some merits from the previous week.
There was probably close to 5 million actual merits done last cycle, still a big increase from the previous 3.8 million.

Here are the charts subtracting all the expansion and opposition merits in the previous Hudson, Delaine and ALD expansions.

There was a total of 4691747 new merits for cycle 99, using the official stats.
This compares to 4510341 merits in cycle 98, not too different, but still more than 20% more than cycle 97s total number of merits.

I think you're overestimating how many merits were from last week. The vast majority of ALD expansion/opposition merits are from the first and second weeks that Gitse was in expansion; those were all shown on the board last week. Same with Hudson and Kumo.

Maybe, I just did a quick estimate.
Delaines Ngarra expansion started the week on 2100% opposition and went up to only 2200% opposition, so that's 250000 merits just there.

ALDs old expansion had 320000 opposition, I assume most of that was the previous weeks, so just those 2 are over 500000 merits.
Her players put in 280000 in that expansion, again most I assume was from the previous weeks, so 750000 merits from the previous cycles might be more accurate.

Hudson had no expansion the previous week, so all those merits were new.

Hudson had Ither in both C98 and C99.
