Cyclops tissue sample.

Phew. After a heated [one sided] slap about from a lone Thargoid whom I might have slightly upset by attaching a research limpet drone to him/her...

I finally grabbed a Thargoid Cyclops tissue sample.. Gonna keep it for a while as a trophy :)

I got slapped about a bit winding up with 68% hull damage [and full shields, of course lol] and zero internal module damage.

I've tried tonight to get some samples, but nothing appeared in my cargo hold (had space).

Bearing in mind, I had a regular 32 space cargo hold, no resistance ones.

Twice my limpet was succesful and returned to me succesfully, but nothing...

Did they remove the Cyclops samples since the hotfix patch?

You need to open your cargo hatch manually to let the limpet in. Stopping also helps. Limpet returns and explodes if cargo hatch isn't open and you're moving.

Yes, figuring out the stopping/slowing down to pick up the limpet was the harder part of the process. You get hit hard if you don't move.

For the effort needed to get these, the value of them sure doesn't match :/ 14,000cr or so iirc.

Heh yeah....cost me 122k in hull :) That's not counting my first 2 attempts where I forgot to open my cargo hatch.

Still totally worth it though because I got to probe a Thargoid.

So.. nothn to do with em but sell? Doubtfull.

Fun to get! Used mines. Kept the Mini-goids busy. High wake target a must.

Had the same happen last night. A research limpet successfully attached to the Thargoid. Went through the extraction process. The limpet detached. I stopped the ship and opened the cargo hatch. The limpet went under the ship and did what it would do with mining fragments. I waited a few seconds just to be sure. Closed the hatch then got out of there. The problem is when I checked my cargo....nothing was there. Could there be a bug? (no pun intended). Or was it patched out like the corrosive resistance?

No. This was post-patch. As has been mentioned. you gotta tough it out and wait for limpet to take the sample and be sure your cargo hatch is open and also keep your ship stationary to collect the limpet when it's done.

Have to agree with other posts here. For the risk and damage one takes, there's little material reward however, I imagine there will be missions based on this new tech coming at some point and further, when e finally get to have some Thargoid weapon resistances [again - they removed the class 3 corrosion resistant hull modules], the whole process will get easier. But, for now, it was a challenge I wanted to accomplish.... :)

Let's hope if they do a CG to collect it, it doesn't allow credit for some market-ready commodity as well like the current CGs :/

Thanks! Assumed so but didn't want to commit to it.

What about the commodity description? should be able to view it on a black market?

"A sample of bio-mechanical tissue taken from a Thargoid Interceptor-class vessel. This sample has been taken from a variant known as a Cyclops and contains both biological and mechanical elements. Tissue samples appear to be highly sought after for research purposes despite the fact that they appear to be highly corrosive."

It was open. It came back after being "successful", I had my hatch open the whole time, and nothing... Even checked the contacts panel on the left and nothing was left outside - it simply didn't collect any thing.

Can't rep again, but thanks! Can't help but think I read that somewhere already, but the reminder is useful!
