Ummm... no.
With our DMs it was usually walk into a village in that state only to discover the whole town has been turned into zombies or something.
Which didn't usually stop my Barbarian visiting the local flop house while the other ran around killing zombies.

No, we played mostly Cyberpunk and if I was being mean I limited access to medical treatment.
But I'd always leave open for the group to go to the Hospital at the Edge of the City. A shame they never explored it. They would rather prefer to play an evening with an amputated arm.
