D-Scanner weird results

Hi all,

Forgive me if this has been asked before or if it has an obvious answer, but many times I arrive in a system, d-scan it and it says "X objects discovered" when in fact the system map shows less objects. For example, I just arrived in a system and it said 8 objects discovered, but if you see the screenshot below I can only see 2 suns and 1 roid belt.

Any ideas as to what is going on? is this a bug?

Regards
Crouz

This is because of asteroid belt. If you will open navigation panel you can see all those 8 undiscovered objects. 6 of them will be a different part of asteroid belt you can travel to.

While asteroid belts may not have any monetary value, I have had occasions when I scanned them in an already discovered system, and then, when I sold my exploration data, got told I was the first to discover them. No improvement to the finances, but allowed me to go "Yay!".

There can be many components to asteroid belts (but the belt itself is shown in system maps as a single entity). I have had occasions whereby a system might have 2 belts, each with 10 (or more) components.

This is strange. Last time I checked it, asteroid belt was reflected as several undiscovered objects in navigation panel. I'll check again when meeting an asteroid belt.
