Ships Daft fleet carrier question

If you have a fleet carrier, and you set it up with a refuelling model. Do you also have to have x amount of fuel (hydrogen Fuel?) For the module to use?

The fleet carrier runs on tritium. Yes, you have to get the tritium separately, either by buying it from other commanders using the market on your ship, mining it yourself or buying it from a station.

The refueling module is for ships that land on the carriere.

Okay so of I have a refuling module, and a normal ship lands on the fleet carrer, that ship doesn't run on tritium, it will run on hydrogen fuel (I think) do I need so many tonnes of hydrogen fuel for the module to syphon off to fuel the normal ship??

nope, with the refuel module it´s enough, you don´t need to buy anything extra to refuel ships. for refuel the carrier itself you don´t need that module, it has to be refueled manually from your ship.

The carrier comes in skeletal form costing 5 billion. You then buy the various modules to kit it out.
Rearm refuel repair etc come as I think a single module.
So easily afforded.
Be warned ... you could spend billions kitting your carrier out..I have.
So having another 10 billion for weekly fees (mines 34 million atm) and upgrades or additions is costly.
Carrier interior modules are alot cheaper.
Get a carrier shipyard or your muckers won't be able to store ships on your carrier.
Tritium is the carriers fuel and you go get it as cargo and transfer it to either the carriers hold or its fuel tank.

Having a full on carrier is a must for us who manipulate the pp bgs.
Good luck o7

Do you mean having billions in your account in order to pay those fees, or can it cost billions per week to run one? Asking for myself - I'm just about to buy a Carrier...

Yeh you not only spend 8 billion+ on all modules for the carrier and its purchase price, you also spend a weekly rental. Cos you don't own it your leasing it from brewer Corp.
You can temporarily suspend services on board thus reducing the weekly fee.

As far as I understand the carrier is just yours and in the lease. And if it were possible to remove all services from it, the payment for it would be 0.

What I do not understand is the payment of suspended services.

There are no daft questions, only daft answers!

It's a little bit strange that you don't need to buy hydrogen for the refueling module and yet CMDRS landing there pay you money for buying hydrogen fuel, it seems to run counter to everything else that FDEV set up for Fleet Carriers, I doubt if refueling would ever be a way to finance your Fleet Carrier though, it just seems strange that every other module requires you to buy stock, but refuel, repair and re-arm are essentially free from stocking costs.

Why not? I get charged for them.
