Ships Daft idea about Faulcon DeLacy. If you're a Faulcon fan, read this!

What do people think of making a Faulcon DeLacy Owner's Club, perhaps as an independent player group, with some fan-made lore behind it?

I thought I'd post the idea here, because us ship-nerds hang out here more than we do other sub-forums. If the idea garners enough interest here, I'll consider making a post in Dangerous Groups.

So what am I proposing? Well, if, like me, you're a Faulcon-fan, then you'll know that we have the most versatile assortment of boats in the game, from one manufacturer. For every possible job in the game, there's a Faulcon ship that can do it.

I figured this might be a good idea, because I just can't seem to find player groups that are akin to real life car clubs. It's a niche, I feel, that can easily be filled. Hell, if you're reading this & you're more a Lakon guy, go ahead & start a Lakon Spaceways Club. :)

Now I should stress, I have no idea how one goes about organizing such a move, if it becomes popular enough, so if you're interested in this idea, consider this an invitation to bring in your input. If this does happen, I want the Faulcon DeLacy Owners Club to be an open organisation with just one main rule: Faulcon DeLacy or get out! :D

Finally, if anyone can link a player group already doing this, please provide the link. That'll mean my searches were rubbish. :p (Though my Google searches bought nothing up)

I look forward to your input. Peace out.

Sign me up mate as I have them all except the Anaconda (too big), the Sidey and the Viper 3 (still my favourite fighter!) both get the thruster upgrade so they'll be getting a lot more popular, there's a Faulcon DeLacy Wiki page so that'd be a good starting point for background story and lore.

Personally I'm not into RPing so most groups don't interest me that much but a ship manufacturers club/group sounds a lot better +1 rep :)

I had a feeling you'd like the sound of this mate. Consider yourself in. I'm gonna' turn my PC off for a bit (BBQ for dinner :D), but when I get back on later this evening I'll start working things out & writing things up. :)

Faulcon de Lacy own Zorgon Peterson ergo Fer de Lance is a Faulcon de Lacy ship.
Asp obviously is Lakon.

Therefore 'two out of three ain't bad'

Indeed. I read about this little factoid recently, while I was contemplating the idea of an Owner's Club.

Which is great news, as I happen to adore the Hauler. :)

Also, having arguably the best combat ship under the game, the Fer-De-Lance, under their (Faulcon's) banner, means that perhaps a few pilots will see this & go "Ooh!"

Now the question is, do I call it FDOC, or ZP/FDOC?

Excellent! all we need is for Faulcon de Lacy to buy Lakon and Core Dynamics and that's all the ships covered ;)

The Adder is a cracking little ship (apart from the cyclops cockpit view!) and it'll get some additional speed from the class 2 and 3 turbo thrusters, I've already got several Haulers (and many Sideys) so I just need to add the Adder to keep my FDL company :)

But well spotted:)
Volkswagen owns Bugatti, but Veyron isn't a VW :)

Besides, something tells me FDL was designed before Zorgon Peterson was acquired by Faulcon Delacy, which makes it undeniably not a Faulcon Delacy ship :)

Well, I'll have to decide if ZP gets counted.

Personally I think it helps the identity of the club to stick to Faulcon DeLacy.

I must stress, I'm not a tyrant. Other brands have their uses & I won't ask members to fly Faulcon only. That would be stupid.

What the club is, is a way for laid-back dudes like myself to express their favourite brand, like a car club IRL. I'm pretty sure a guy in a Mini Cooper club also has a people-carrier by VW for his family duties. :)

I think I'll just keep this to being an Inara wing, guys. There's no need for this movement to be anything more than a badge of honour. I'll make the wing later. :)

Oh now I'm torn!!

I would kinda hope I'd get automatic membership because of my un-logical love of the Cobra MKIV but I also really like the lakon ships with their open cockpits etc.

I just can't get rid of my Cobra's though....no matter how much I think should at times....Kinda like the way I love my jeep!!

I love the Falcon de Lacy ships. Cobra III and Viper III are my favorite ships in the game in which I probably spend most of my cockpit time. As a matter of fact I just revived the Viper thread to spread some Viper love.

So yes, Falcon de Lacy for the win!

I do like the ships, own most of them but: I sit in and look around the bridge of my Anaconda, the fit and finish, the materials quality, the hanging wires, etc. and then I sit in and look around the bridge of my Core Dynamics Federation Corvette. It really points up the inferior build quality of the "pride of the Faulcon-Delacey Shipyard". Love my COBIII.
