Dailies & Boosters

In a sense this game is an MMO, and as such it probably should incentivize logging in daily.

Proposed:

- Daily login bonus (Choose between Credits, Ship Part, Engineers Resource, or Booster)
This should scale with the player's game progression, and days logged in.
- Boosters should be available for purchase via Credits. These would boost credits gained via trading, missions, or exploration for a time period after activation. All boosters should be purchasable via credits, but additionally in larger packs for cash. Boosters for resources found during mining or mission rewards, or boosters for experience should also exist. Again please keep these available through non pay to win means.
- Daily Missions. All players are "automatically registered for an employment search program" that each day played gives them three quests they can play. These would be appropriate for their ranking, and would have 2x to 5x rewards than normal. Players would be able to fine tune what type of missions they get in a separate screen so they don't have to deal with getting only combat or only mining unless they want to.

+1 for the daily login bonus.
-1 for the "pay for boosters", this would kinda make it a "Pay to Progress" system.

I don't think I could disagree with this suggestion more.

ED is an MMO, yes, but not a traditional one. The thing I actually love about this game (having played WoW etc in the past) is the fact that I don't have to login every day. If I want to take a break to play something else, I can, and I don't feel obliged to "work" on my account. I really would hate to see that change.
Can't say I agree with the boosters idea either. They don't seem to make sense within the game world (you purchase an item that increases what you learn from combat? How?) and feel like they'd simply become an arbitrary and mandatory buff to be maintained.

I'm cool with people wanting different things out of the game, to each their own, but I always thought ED was about making you feel small (among other things of course). You're not important, the missions aren't designed for you, you make your own way; that's kind of the point of the game, isn't it?

Nope nope nope nope nope.

The "incentives to log in daily" are hooks to keep people subscribed. Happily we don't have that sort of junk, and I'd very much prefer to keep it that way.

Agreed.

The other thing with daily log on rewards is this, they either need to be that attractive that they basically unbalance the game, if it was just pretties it certainly wouldn't be enough incentive to get me to log in daily, if it was things that I thought worth logging on for everyone grinding to earn them would be upset. Daily log on rewards are for trivial games, the sort my 8 year old niece plays on the tablet. For most people this game is rewarding enough without them.
