Damage from Over Fueling? True/False?

I think I either read or someone told me that you can damage your ship by over fueling, is this true? I'm not talking anything about heat here. I'm just talking about when the computer says "Fuel Scooping Complete" and you continue to sit there. I've sat there a few times for a couple seconds, don't really know how long because I wasn't paying attention or the like, but nothing ever happened.

So can anyone confirm if you can damage your ship/modules when scooping on a full tank?

Thanks in advance for any info. Take care.

It disengages when the tank is full, though, so you're no longer scooping - just a ship sitting in space near a star... No?

You can't over fuel. But you can over heat.
Some ships and builds aren't temperature stable when sitting at max fuel scooping range.

My DBE for example sits nicely at 62% when I'm scooping and does not continue heating up, but I have an Imperial Courier that continues to heat up quite quickly when I'm fuel scooping.
Fortunately it has a small tank so I don't need to stop, just a quick swoop through and it's full, reaching about 80% before cooling off again.
If I had to stop for more than a few seconds, it would start taking heat damage.

I think the fuel scoop is always active when in scooping range of the star - even if tank is full. It only dissengages when you move out of range.
