Damage model

Does all ships have a damage model, can you 'knock out' or have knocked out your engines / weapons / cockpit controls etc etc.

And what happens if your engines are knocked out, can you call out a drone or something to tow you to a station for repairs?

Yeah I think thats the notion. You can actually target subsystems like life support. Mine keeps getting blown up. Others I've never seen go down, because targets just get destroyed before the component does...

ED has rather sophisticated damage model, however due of complexity they are not yet enabled in alpha. I will guess they will be added during premium beta phase.

There was nice concept art of damage model for Anaconda, but I can't find it right now.
