Damn You Frontier...

During the Beta there were occasions where my weapons would deploy and fire of their own accord... I put it down to bugs but didn't raise it. Tonight, about 2 minutes ago, I lifted off from a station only to have my weapons deploy and fire of their own accord. Subsequently I'm down over 6,000 credits to replace my Viper... Bah!!

That really sounds like a controller issue. I've never even heard of this happening before. One easy thing to do is make it so firing doesn't deploy hardpoints. Ensure you deploy them yourself manually. I've personally encountered randomly being flagged wanted but that was always after having fired (at valid pirates!) myself. Turrets are the only other thing I can think of. Turrets default to fire at will, so if you have something causing your hardpoints to deploy (bugged controller, or dual bound control) then a turret can just go crazy on its own.

This is why setting "Firing Deploys Hardpoints" should be set to the OFF position.

Not ever had this happen through beta or in release. I would check your controller / keyboard? sticky keys eh? ;)

If you are still alive :)-)) were you fully repaired? My observation is weapons that are damaged (i.e not 100% in modules) can start firing by themselves.
If it happends again turn the weapons off in modules, and 0 pips to weapons (multi-cannons needs at least 1/2 pip to fire).

I had this happen in Alpha/Beta put it down to controller (or lack there of).
When it happened again, I noticed the pattern of damage to the weapons, that nad malfunction in the tutorial - suggests to me not a bug or controller issue. In you case, obviously I was not there, so cannot say for sure.

You do not happen to have an x55 do you?. I get ghost keypresses if I plug my x55 into usb2 port. I have to use usb3.

Multiple times in beta I boosted in stations and randomly dumped cargo.

Never happened since I changed USB ports
This is a hardware issue it has happened in other games too as well as in the control panel

Had this happen during beta, dropping out of SC, they were fixed and not turrets. No deploy time. Never did figure if it was a bug, or one of those "random breakdowns in your ship", though word is that wear and tear does not cause that and just reduces your hull strength by 30%. At the time, I was 100% wear and tear and wondered if this was part of systems glitching out on purpose from that.

Since I started playing at beta launch, I've had this happen to me once. It was annoying when it happened, but it's so rare that the bug is hard to reproduce and consequentially analyze - which perhaps is the reason for it still existing.
