"Dancing" guests

Since the southeast asia update there is the "dancing guests"-bug in gridded paths. Guests (and staffmembers) seem to build clusters hanging in a wayfinding bug. They move around themselves as if they are dancing and can't proceed on their way. Whereas guests "only" get all their needs reduced to zero, staffmembers can't go on with their duties. That's how I first found that bug, because my habitats got dirty and my animals hungry. It occurs only on gridded path sections, but it is a very, very disruptive and frustrating bug, because you have to clear these clusters by hand, taking each guest-party and put them down in another spot. And those clusters can consist of many, many guests (and staffmembers tend to rage-quit if you are not fast enough).
I did hope, this bug (which is neither new nor unknown) would have been addressed in the update. :(

It's been around for quite a while, and it seems mostly to happen only with gridded paths. Either they can't replicate the bug, or find a solution or whatever.

This has been a problem since forever indeed. Last I heard they're looking into it. I don't know how they cannot replicate it as it is pretty much instantaneous when building anything grid based. So I think it's more likely that's it's pretty hard to fix.

It also happens to me in a specific place in my zoo, I have to periodically manually move the stuck guests, so their needs don't go down to zero.

One solution that is faster than picking up the guests to move them is to delete the bit of path that they are stuck on until the guests disappear, then hit ctrl z to undo the deletion. The stuck guests won't re-appear, and any staff that was stuck in the "bait ball" o' dancing guests will proceed on their merry way.

I agree it is annoying and it can sneak up on you if you are focused on other aspects of the zoo. I've gotten disgruntled staff notices and wasted time building more break rooms, scheduling training and raising salaries, only to have them quit anyway. They I realize the staff member is stuck with the guests who are endlessly pivoting in place.

I agree that the path deletion helps resolve the immediate issue but it is not a long term solution. Guests will almost instantly get stuck in the same spot again. In some zoos I spend over half my playing time deleting paths just to resolve this issue. It's no way to play the game.
