Dangerous Feedback: Missing Content? oO

Hello

Tried exploring, tried bounty hunting, tried trading...

No matter what I do in this game, it always seems, like there is still a lot missing, like eating unripe fruits, with a slighlty taste of lacking usability aswell...

Have I missed something, is it supposed to be, like it is now?

I mean, you cannot even set a route with multiple waypoints, come on, you dont need to be genious to think, that it might be usefull...

I played it in Beta, for a week or so and I thought: "Ok, its Beta, give it some more weeks or month..."

So I came back like a week ago and reached the point again, were I think: "Ok, lets give it some more time... and play something different meanwhile..."

Is it suposed to be like that?

No offence, I kinda like this game, it has a lot of potential, but there is still a lot of space for improvement...

It does still have alot missing. It also has alot more coming.

They wreleased the game early to make money for further developement. They are updating content at a very fast rate compared to alot of games out there. In a few weeks we should see update 1.3 which will completely rework and add to the mission system, and possibly the USS system. With this update we will also see what the devs are calling "Power Play", which we dont know anything about yet, but it is speculated that it will be a major event either in the games developement, or in the ongoing storyline.

This game is well worth hanging around for and waiting till more content is added before casting judgement IMO. Its going to be BIG if we give it the chance.

This is something I would really like to see in the Galaxy map. It has a lot of rough edges in useability. I'd like to see the System view better connected to it also, so that switching between the two doesn't reset your view in the Galaxy map.

Yes. It's no secret this game is a work in progress.

It's not made by Rockstar, Blizzard, Bethesda etc. It's a kick starter project. Base funding 1.3m or whatever it was. Rather than take 6 years to release a "finished" game, they released it in a playable state and will continually update and improve it over time. For free.

You should have seen Eve: online at launch. It was even lighter on content. And you had to pay a monthly fee for 10 years to see it get to where it is now.

It is a game in progress, and probably always will be. I wouldn't leave it and come back later though. You will miss out on the evolving stories and various opportunities that crop up. Play along and the game will grow around you :)

Ya, its kinda hard to figure out how to pass the time in game, exploring while listening to audio books seems to work best so far :)

It depends, if you are a shareholder you are happy. The game is being expanded to other platforms and profit is being maximized. This is happening without risking any problems due to over complexity or sophistication.

So yes for some (the proverbial 1%) this is exactly how it is supposed to be.

New stations, wings, drones and power play coming up, just off the top of my head. You really think they aren't adding content/ sophistication?

Would be nice if people were a little more specific in what they feel are missing, I really don't want to see another topic of "missing content!" "missing (insert non specific and very broad term)"
Those topics are pointless, but yes Elite is as far as I see build along the old style of game, as more games should be build in my opinion.

Foundation first, then add ontop of that.
We got a great foundation, and each patch brings more and more great stuff.

Because this game is released, you buy it, try couple things out and reach very fast the end of an path and start wondering, thats it?

Than you write a couple of suggestion in this forum and all you get in return, are answers like: "No, this game is great as it is"

And you start to think again, developers seemed to be serious, because they released it and the community seems to be serious as well, because it seems like they dont want any changes...

So, that was my experiance so far, how specific do you want it?

Most usefull post was from Ydiss, now I know what is going on here and I can adept my expections to it and everything is ok...

more or less^^

Please don't misunderstand me. Addition of content is a good thing. To continue with my point, a slow controlled release of content (expense) is ideal.
