After being selected as one of the Top 5 Galactic Minor Factions to enter the Dangerous Games: Rise to Power competition, we are pleased to announce that we have accepted the invite by FD and we will be entering the contest representing our community to become the first galactic Power made by Explorers, for Explorers.
These games represent a golden opportunity for all of us to come together as one and have a chance to have our voice heard about the benefits and opportunities that could be created to improve the quality of our professions, and change the landscape of a galaxy obsessed with trade and combat, to a more scientific, expansionist one, that seeks to extend the human race beyond the bubble!

My Story As An Explorer
I started in this Galaxy as a miner. It was the easier and first way to earn an honest living. I used to dream about reaching out to the core, or many amazing places the explorers used to mention at the local bar while working in Chamunda and Idu Misi, the systems were I started my career. I eventually was told about the rare trading commerce and found an opportunity to get an Asp Class exploration ship and fulfill my dreams. This is how, on January 5, 3301 I got to Eleu with the firm goal of join the "Rares Rush" Era and collect credits for my Explorer Ship.
My roots quickly grow deep in that system and I became an activist of the then ruling Social Eleu Progressive Party. My leadership skills made me notorious in their ranks, and quickly I was spreading the high and noble ideologies of the party to the Santjalan System, next door. My involvement with the explorers community was equally passionate as my political one with SEPP. I rallied for us to have a separate voice from the Dangerous Discussions and become a Forum for ourselves. I further the knowledge about the Neutron Star Fields, and helped to define them and pin point their location. And ultimately, also became involved in the Sagittarius A* Visitor's List, keeping track of all the valiant cmdrs that made it there. I am an eager supporter and collaborator of the Galactic Mapping Project led by Elite CMDR Erimus Kamzel, and even assisted him and DrKaii with the execution and organization of the recent Galactic wide event Distant Worlds Expedition. Not only I have a verified and long story with this community, my career has been largely and proven to be one of service and improvement for our rights in this Galaxy.
Moreover: I did it all, while also running at the head of the SEPP, for I became its leader, and current Chief of State.
SEPP Background and the Explorer's Nation Project
In the early days of civilization, for those old enough to remember, there were hard laws preventing flipping systems. The Major factions dominated the landscape pretty much unchallenged. That was until the small but very vocal system of Lugh decided to put up a fight and challenge the Status Quo. The brothers and sisters of the Crimsom State Group helped to change history with its freedom and Independence War from the Federation. Understanding that the Lugh War could potentially change the reality for all of us in our own corner of the civilization, the SEPP made the swift decision to send allies to the War and successfully fought shoulder to shoulder with the CSG to liberate its oppressed system.
Since then we have been involved in many other events: we got hit by the Cerberus virus, we fought the Feds in Eleu, we fell to Mahon forces and were exploited for months, we helped in the construction of Obsidian Orbital, and we also assisted to organize the DWE, as well as helped the Wasp -its signature ship- to be reinstated and restocked with a variety of rares. More and more cmdrs, joined our ranks, and we are now 15 cmdrs with 3 trainees, present in 9 systems, controlling 7 of them and a total population of over 20 billion people.
We have also seek the stabilization of nearby systems, changing anarchists for democrats in order to create a safe route for explorers coming to our Nation, not to be interdicted by pirates. We are now stronger than ever, and we are having success in creating a secure and safe corner of the Galaxy, with no intentions to dominate the civilization bubble but to offer a safe oasis from the politics of it. This is the reason why we do not show up in any political map until now: we are interested in growing out of the bubble, not inside it!
What We Stand For
-An Independent cluster of system, free from any Major Faction and away from any of the current Powers. A haven where explorers are not chased or interdicted, and where humankind come together for research, exploration of our wonderful galaxy. We want to create a Power that would be the antitheses of a traditional Power: we will sign a neutrality pact with all current ones -as we wouldn't step on anyone's toes if our systems become one, and we will focus on offering a safe space were no one is chased regardless their alignment. At the same time, push for expanding towards the core. Let them have the bubble: we want the Galaxy.
This is the very reason why even current powers should consider our option, or risk that instead, one of our adversaries rise only to pursue their hard earned bubble space. We have no interest in pursuing such goal.
-Expansion of civilization and/or research facilities throughout the Galaxy. If the Galactic Powers have shown us anything is that nothing will happen in this Galaxy without their involvement. Chances are that the expansionist dreams and the importance of data will not be established as a law without a power's blessing. Moreover, anytime from now to the not so distant future, rumors of alien civilizations coming from obscured regions in the Galaxy, might be confirmed. We will need a Power to pioneer such war, not among us humans, but against them aliens. The current powers are too radicalized in their own agendas, beyond neutrality to effectively bring us all together. We should start preparing, and who else but explorers, the ones most likely to be the first line of contact, to lead this imminent event?
-A power that can work for us. The main reason most explorers stay out of Power Play is due to the fact that current powers and dynamic are not attractive enough for us. The current offers on the table are hardly appealing for someone who spends weeks or months at a time out of the bubble. There are no real explorer oriented modules that answer to our needs. And the risks are often high or the grinding is too excessive. We are looking to solve as many of these pitfalls if given the chance to do so. But at the moment, and because still the extent of the changes can not be foreseen -and no matter what anyone tells you, not one of the contestants know yet what can effectively be implemented- all what we are sure of is the direction and the character of the changes we want to propose, with the participation of the community and catering its needs.
Many good ideas are being looked at -a longer range FSD, a faster cooldown drive, a combined scanner, a passive bonus, etc.- but we'll need to furbish and polish all of them as we learn more to what extent they can be implemented and then vet them out to the community for validation.
Dangerous Games: Rise to Power Voting System
In spite of the 5 Top Minor Faction had been picked considering their BGS stats, the "DG: RtP" are going to be a series of 4 back to back community goals held in the month of June. The winner of the CG's will then be granted to have it's own Power vision be created and enforced in the Galaxy.
As we all know, the success of a CG relies on the amount of participation it receives, the amount of cmdrs that pour into its tiers, and has nothing to do with the BGS. This mechanics, is in reality, a voting method in disguise: the biggest group of pilots that collaborate towards a CG, is the one that will get their ideas implemented in the Galaxy, via Power creation.
That's what this is: an election where your individual participation will be your vote in the successive CG's that will take place for each of the competing Minor Factions.
This is a golden opportunity to change PP and level the field for us. This is not about politics, or for the sake of politics. This is about having our saying in the game. Being apolitical is one thing. Being indifferent to potential opportunities to change the game is a completely different thing. And you, and me, and all of us, one by one, with our ships, can make a difference now, make no mistake about it! Even if the other minor factions lose, chances are that they will keep seeing new ships, new modules for combats and such. And PowerPlay will remain serving them the same. If we lose, we won't see such treatment cause we got none at the moment!!
The decision is yours. We can do this together. See Robigo, see Distant Worlds, see Obsidian Orbital: when we explorers come together we create good things!! We reach for the stars and then beyond!
