Dangerous NPC drivers

Well i have to say im not happy at all as ive been rammed twice when exiting a space station twice within an 18hr period. The real kicker is over 5 million in losses, due to cargo and ship rebuild costs. Has anyone else experienced this from NPC's?

thanks

Constantly. You need to watch out for NPC's and give way. You can usually squeeze along the sides with the smaller ships though.

NPC's dock just as we do, sometimes their path can cross yours, sometimes you can actually put them in your path. I have never felt that an NPC deliberately rammed me.
The only time I have had an 'oh noes' moment has been in the 'slot' when it is just bad luck like meeting a tractor head on in a narrow lane :)
I can only advise using the radar, leaving landing gear down until you have exited the station to regulate speed/disable boost and be prepared for the unexpected

good advice, but these were unexpected.. Just when you think you are getting somewhere. Would be nice if they utilised the cargo insurance

Simply rule, always let the NPC go first. If you crash with any of them you have to look in the mirror for the blaming.

This.

It takes two to tango. I've never been rammed unless I'm also moving. So how can I blame the NPC solely? In my experience, I've seen NPCs stop when another ship is directly in their path.

There's no right of way, no stop signs or give way signs. It's as much your responsibility and having an awareness of your surroundings is a skill you learn over time.

The only time you have no control over this is when launching in a ship with no upwards visibility; in this case you have to just move slowly so any collisions result in minimal damage. Once the radar appears, it's back to your responsibility to check and check again.

After a little while you learn how NPCs tend to behave and adjust your behaviour.

They need to contact the RYD - responsible young drivers - cause many of them have an alcohol problem or are on drugs - or both :)

Tried that once with my Asp when an NPC Type 9 was parked in the mail-slot - got stuck & I was the one the Station lasers demolished. :D

I've literally been run over by a T9 while in a T7 exiting a station, just rear ended, shoved my ship downards and rolled over me, thankfully I had shields.
