Wow. You went through the upper layer. The hyper space saved your life it seems. You can actually see the fuel scoop engaging before you are out. Fantastic stuff, never seen that before. What if the sun were placed a little bit different? If that is possible to hit a twin star. But great video
Happened to me once too, weren't as lucky got kicked out of supercruise instantly and took some extra dmg. Also there is one system where you get droped out only a few kms from Blackhole, that will drop you out of cruise. Exploring can get pretty dangerous sometimes too.
Ha nice one Cmdr, this happened to me only a couple of days ago. It was the binary system next to(on my route) 39 tauri and i was running diso ma corn. Every time i was hitting that binary system i could see the two suns orbit changing 'but was like yeah whatever it will be fine'.
On about 11th run in this same thing happened to me shot out of hyperspace then whoosh star in the face 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr omfg' except the stars were closer together and was taking heat damage immediately after hyperspace exit.
Very lucky tho as i had not been taken out of SC so managed to get away a little singed and with alot less hair. Watching you vid brought the panic back abit like ptsd for space pilots.
Oh man, that one is bone chilling. The noise of the fuel scoop kicking in makes it sound like the FSD just crapped out and sputtered to a halt from passing so close so fast.
The second one is fantastic!
There have been quite a few videos like your first and a lot more of near misses, but this is the first time that I see someone going exactly tangential to the surface of the star.
I love how at your closest point, the star basically turns into a straight wall.
Thanks for sharing and may your HJ exits continue to be exciting!
As Han would tell you, this is what happens when you fly through hyperspace without precise calculations. Maybe you should have your navicomputer checked out.
