Dark screen

Are they cocktail sticks?
I think they're called Prominences. The ones you barrel roll through while fuel scooping. They used to look quite nice, but now they... well go have a look ;)

(I'd personally fix the gamma curve of the alpha channel)

Edit: These thingies:

(I like the visuals of scooping :alien: )

I wonder if copying over your "GraphicsConfiguration.xml" file from Horizons to Odyssey would give the gamma brightness back.

It's worth a shot.

Oh, wait, @Old Duck is probably deep into this by now and should have a new graphics mod for us within days.

Too dark and subdued for me also. More realistic perhaps but inadequate. I usually have ReShade tweaks so will see if I can adjust with that.

Too dark to see anything so I went for performance set all video to LOW and maxed the Gama at least now I get low 40s for FPS in docking bay

It's too dark for my taste, Horizons brightness is way better and I don't care about "space is dark" realism, I wanna see things at least in my spaceship.

Copied my ReShade settings over and it has improved the visual clarity and overall dullness for my persoanl taste.

It will take some getting used to and adjustments.

It's horribly dark everywhere. Gamma does nothing. Sky is pitch black, inside is pitch black.

And before someone try to be smart, no, space is not black. Not even on Earth. It's a terrible misconception that stem from several factors. First, light pollution, people live in city and town, with light that dim the sky. Also, the moon. And finally, our thick atmosphere. So, what most people will ever see in their life is a black sky.
If you want to have a glimpse of space, go far away from any civilization, in a moonless night with clear sky.

This is what you'll see :

Luminosity is off for the ground due to using long exposure camera. But the sky isn't. That's what I saw as a kid, relatively far from any cities. This picture don't do it any justice, it's one of the most magnificent thing I ever saw, and I strongly advise anybody to do the trip and see it.

They are billions of stars up there. Billions of sun, some brighter than our own.

Now, before someone comment about the well known NASA black pictures of earth/moon, they are done with a specific camera that dim the star (google it), and also, the whole issue of light pollution is back, since you have a MASSIVE moon or Earth right in the middle.

City dwellers will never understand what is out there when viewed from a dark site with properly adjusted eyes

Made all the sweeter by the fact they are so certain they are the ones who know what the world is like, all while living and seeing nothing but the most unnatural lifestyle to ever exist. The comedy writes itself!
