Dark Side of Planets

I will apologize in advance if this has been discussed but I couldn't find anything recent about this topic. My question is simple.

In Odyssey When I approach the dark side of a planet it is sometimes very subtly illuminated reflecting star light or even the galaxy background and it looks great. Then as I get closer it always instantly turns pitch black. Other times the dark side is consistently pitch black. I thought this was supposed to have been fixed a while back in one of the patches. Is this a problem with my specific settings/installation or is everyone is experiencing the same issue? I don't want to waste time trying to fix this if it is a bug that effects everyone.

It's still an issue, yes :)

I did a test the other day to check for the effect of starlight. I'm currently well above the galactic plane, over the core. I landed on the night side of a planet with the galaxy in view (a consistent pale beige sky) and could see around me pretty easily without headlights. Clearly not daylight but entirely playable. I then popped over to a region (same planet) where only a sliver of the galactic disc was visible on the horizon and it was still not pitch black but was considerably darker.

So approaching a planet the terminator can still be difficult to identify and the lighting of the night side can vary considerably but I'm happy that once on the ground it's taking lighting from the skybox into account.
