dark souls 2

Dark Souls 2 is one of the big, legendary titles for fantasy enthusiasts and is well-known for the sometimes ridiculous difficulty level. Not my cup of tea due to the fact that it is too
difficult for me. If you like it, then give Lords of the Fallen a go as well.

Dark Souls 3 is coming soon btw.

Roleplaying games are my 2nd fave genre (after space games) but DS2 just did nothing for me at all, I disliked it from the off and never put more than around 5-6 hours into it.

Whereas I put 143 in Witcher 3, 150+ in Dragonage Inquisition and god knows how many in Diablo 3. haha

Dark Souls games are very specific, you will love it or hate it. Personally I preferred first Dark Souls way more, but if you are new to the series you might be better starting off with DS2 - game is much easier and accessible imo.
But do not expect usual "quest" and hand holding, the game dont explain almost anything to you and all lore/story is told mostly via item description.
I love Dark Souls games, I played countless of hours of both titles and now I cant wait for the third title. Game offers tons of content and re-playability with NG+ mechanic.
Tip - if you buy it play it with the controller, PC port is abysmal.

I looooooooooooooooooooooove Soulsborne Games! Demons Souls, Dark Souls 1+2 and Bloodborne are for me probably the best thing happen to gaming in recent history.

That being said, Dark Souls 2 is the weakest of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, its stil a very good game but just not as good as the others. You can see that it was made a B team, most notable in the leveldesign, but you can also see that they really tried to do there best. And they got better at it as could be seen in the DLC, so they did learn and improve.

And yes, Souls games are not for everybody so you may not like it. But if you can get DS2 cheap I would give it a shot.

So, I just started Dark Souls 3...

Gawd dammit, its beautiful, all the scenery is pure geometry, no cheap tricks, the screenshots and videos don't do it justice.

Also, check the music in the main menu:

I had Dark Souls II on my PS4.

I liked the game, but I really struggled with the bosses, it enduced a fair amount of rage from within me!

I played DS3 bit recently, cant say I enjoy it as much as I should - it looks and sounds amazing but the game play and enemies are closer to fast paced Bloodborne (might be personal taste of course). I dont really get the same feeling that I got from DS1 and 2.

The Speed in DS3 is like in Demon's Souls which was my favorite until now. Dark Souls 3 so far feels perfect for me, it is like they took the best parts of all the Soulsborne games and packaged into one with extra beauty.

I have to share some of my mates work from Flickr.... They possess an incredible talent for screenshot techniques. And DS3 looks ******* fantastic!!!!

Those are pretty amazing! After 11 h I quit DS3 - I dont know, that tiny bit that got in there from Bloodborne combat made the game not for me. Pretty sure its amazing for some but I want DS not BB.

I found it [DS3] felt more like DS1 than DS2 (never played BB). Something about the movement in DS2 seemed a bit off.

Dark Souls is one of my favourites, and the example for how to have a story in a game.
