Dat prince mission on Elite 84

Any of you 84's remember first mission on Elite original, where a prince of some planet asks for your help and upon completion, offers some critters as gift which actually is a parasite, eating all your food on your cargo and you cannot get rid of them.

I was 6, I don't remember more than this.

I'm sure they were called Tribbles but then changed to Trumbles to avoid potential legal problems, I could be wrong. What I do know is that they could be killed off by flying near to a sun.

hahaha, reminds me of hitchhikers original game, feed the dog or towards the end of the game it will eat your miniature fleet, and you can do nothing about it but start again !!!

Those tribbles is also in the game Star trek online.
If you pick some up they breed like maniacs and soon you will find your entire inventory full of them so only options is to delete them to free up some space.
Its just annoying when you try and loot something and se your inventory is full of tribbles instead,

I remember paying 5000 CR for them as well. It would be great to have some NPC scams in game, it adds realism.

Then you can hire us (piwates) to kill their civilians in return
