ps: english is not my first language so i apologize if i made a grammatical error / used an incorrect word.
I noticed that asteroid belts are not within exploration gameplay, scanning them is useless, including other celestial bodies that are worthless to scan. increasing the rewards wont solve the problem, the gameplay is too straightforward, and repetitive.
So im thinking about "Data Accuracy", or something like negated precentage value of inaccuracy-ness of an information. the range is from 50% to 99%. The information that shows up in the system map shows up when a commander do the scans and sold the data to universal cartographics, BUT the information that shows up in the system map not always correct depending of the data accuracy of each data (each celestial bodies/scannable object in a system have their own data and its accuracy). the reward for turning in data to universal cartographics is also increases accordingly with the data accuracy of each data. fdev can balance the rewards from this aspect, 50% data accuracy should have lower reward than our current ingame scan rewards, meanwhile getting 98% of data accuracy would have a nice reward but needs a lot of time to get that number, because each of the multiplier from a repeated scan.
And then we also need more types of scanners, each scanners have a different data accuracy yields (chance between min and max percentage), and a multiplier to the base data accuracy from the next scans of the same object. data accuracy from the first scan (%) x multiplier stats of the scanner (%) = data accuracy after the second scan (%)
Some of scanner types that i can think of:

Some of scanner types that i can think of:
- Supercruise scanners: for use in supercruise, capable of detecting presence of any kind of celestial objects.
- Basic Discovery Scanner: short range, high data accuracy (~70%) (no data accuracy multiplier for repeated scan)
- Intermediate Discovery Scanner: long range, medium data accuracy (~60%) (no data accuracy multiplier for repeated scan)
- Advanced Discovery Scanner: infinite range, low data accuracy (~50%) (no data accuracy multiplier for repeated scan)
- Asteroid scanner limpets: for use in normal space near asteroids
- Swarm Microlimpet: scans hundreds of asteroids composition at once, use ammo, heavy, medium data accuracy (~62%) (14% multiplier for repeated scan)
- Beam-based Scanner: scans a single asteroid with high chance of high data accuracy (~78%) (10% multiplier for repeated scan), slow scan time, consumes a lot of power.
- Planetary Scanners: capable of scanning planets surface from orbital flight
- IR-based Gas Analyzer: to scan gas giants and atmosphere composition of other planets
- our current "surface scanner"
- Surface Scanners: capable of scanning the compositions of landable planets surface, can only be used when landed and/or flying on a planet surface
- Underground prospector: in a form of an extendable boom with laser drill on the tip, consumes high amount of energy, long scan time, medium data accuracy (~66%) (16% multiplier for repeated scan)
- Atmospheric Analyzer: air scoop ?, scan time decreases along with the ship's speed, minimum scan time is the stats, data accuracy should be higher than IR-based gas analyzer with lower multiplier for repeated scan.
- etc for stars maybe
