So, seeing as its been about 9 months since I did this - am I to understand that general convention on data farming is to go to the Jameson site and make like Groundhog Day?

I recall there used to bt this thing where you went to a ground based outpost that had laser turrets and you scanned a data point which activated a countdown and then you had to dash across this outpost trying not to get too badly shot up while scanning other data points to collect data mats? did that just happen in my head? What happened to that then?

And other than Jameson and oh the Crashed Anaconda - nothing else of substance to while away the endless hours.....

Inra bases.

As for data farming, no idea what the current trend is. I get all my stuff from excessive hours in a HAZ and then hitting up the material traders when data bins acquired from ship scans in a HAZ are full.

These have changed. Now, you get wanted for trespass at some of the locations. As of 3.0 the Industrial bases now have the large trespass zone that triggers if you drive up to the base with the SRV. At the Exploration and Scientific bases you can still drive through the bases with the SRV...
