Data Run missions based on Exploration???

Data Runs are based off of Exploration rank, why is this? It doesn't increase your exploration rank for completing them so why are they a factor instead of just Trade Rank or faction loyalty instead. I've never understood that.

Simple do one of two things

A: Make doing Data Runs increase Exploration Rank

B: Remove the Exploration Rank in favor of either Trade Rank, or the cmrd's standing with that particular faction who is offering the mission.

That's what I'm saying, half the time the missions that are locked because insufficient rank are less than 10 LY's away. Its pretty laughable, sorry Cmdr but looking at your credentials your Exploratory skills aren't experienced enough to make this 3LY trip...
