Data transfer mission ?

I just got a mission to meet someone at a location to receive some data that needs taking to another system ...how do I get the data ?

Depends, if it a foot mission, you fly to the station, look into the station directory, target that person and go to them.

If it is a ship mission you go to the system, the NPC will find you and drop down out of supercruise and they transfer then... Either, follow the prompts.

The npc will say something like "Good job I found you" then it drops from supercruise and leaves a wake signal you can target and follow it into normal space. Then your mission will usually update with a new location if I'm recalling all this correctly.
