Datamine of Planet Coaster

I would like someone to datamine Planet Coaster and reveal rides and shops that will be in the game (just like how an Arms datamine revealed more fighters and a Splatoon 2 datamine revealed more weapons).

Feel free to try so yourself, though I doubt you'll be able to find much of interest.
For now no-one even knows how planet coaster's file structure works...

Not quite sure how much Frontier likes discussions about this on their forums though...

The data for future content doesn't even exist in the game yet. It's all secrecy until the time when they are ready to announce something, in this case October 7. Next update most likely late October or November.

Do it yourself if you want that info so badly.

Lol, topicstarter read some story in the news and probably has no idea what datamining is. Hint: it is not a magical crystal ball that reveals future developments of a product. It is true that some game developer do include nearly finished DLC and extra content in the game files, only to reveal them later behind some sort of paywall. But luckily, Frontier is not one of those developers.

However, the community did figure out the existence of small bits of (alpha) content, long before they made it into the game. The Iron Horse comes to mind. They did so by looking into the filenames of the game data, you call that datamining if you want to be fancy about it.

You can do this yourself if you really think there will be something interesting to find, in 2 simple steps:

1. Open a game file in a hex editor
2. Look at some interesting strings in said hex editor.

Simple. [wink]

Except they did.

Nothing wrong with that though, quite common in software development...

That is exactly what datamining is. Looking at or in files to find things not yet announced.
This also has happened with the DLC packs, which files where existant for before the update that actually added them...
