Engineers Datamined Wake Exceptions : Is there a more 'refined' way to find them ?

I know this item is very RNG and annoying to get. I am going to FAMINE states, Distribution Centres , wake scanning departing ships(as we all do).
Even so I get to a stage when I would rather poke my eyes out with a wet rusty umbrella infected with salmonella :(

Have you refined how you do this? mode switching ? time? system switching? voodoo?
ty :)

Haha, after I posted this my first scan gets me one :D

droprate at distribution centers is around 9%, and the best there is.

beside outfitting an imperial eagle with an a grade wake scanner, and putting up some music you like, there is no better way to get them.

i personally have a wake scanner on almost all ships of mine, scanning a wake everytime i leave a station - less disruptive to my gameplay, quite efficient when doing boom trading.

Have found 42 in a short time.

Distribution centre. Biggest wake scanner so i could stay in one place and only have to target the wakes.
First hour, i just found some, waiting, waiting found some more.
I got a phonecall and logged out. When i logged back in i found one in like 5 minutes. then i just logged out again, and found some more in a few minutes.
Then i just started to log out when i found some. It worked for me that evening, maybe just RNG luck but still.

Long Range Wake scanner (7.9km) made distribution centres farming slightly quicker. I don't have to move to scan most of them.

Yes, there are 2 methods, yours and the one I use, both are valid.

My method is Fast Scan mod to my Wake Scanner. Because I get bored so quickly just pointing and scanning, I chase after the ships to get close :D
Also I use a small flashlight on my space bar(space bar is my FIRE 2 button,as is the one on joystick) so as soon as I pick a wake and am close enough it auto scans in 2 secs.
Much more fun ;)
