That's obvious considering the current direction ED is taking, but whatever, not gonna argue the point on this thread...it would go south fast.

I was a teenager in the 80s too although having a computer was something kids where I grew up either stole, or got from the back of a van, and it wasn't until the 90s where I started actually gaming hard, so my first outing with the original elite was at a m8s house cos they were from a nice area. My life took a somewhat different direction so the whole "greatest space game ever made" is totally lost on me. Fer me, that's freelancer but that's ancient history now ^

freelancer was pretty good too :)
 
I'm still of the opinion that ED would have been a different game had Ian Bell still been around. DB is a programmer and engineer, Ian Bell was the story teller.
