Maybe that's where the idea for jetpacks in Odyssey came from?![]()
I hope there are smoke grenades in Odyssey.
Hopefully this means the Alpha isn't far off.Saw his tweet in my twitter feed the other day:

Yeah, I know he's the boss and all so he's allowed to skite, interesting to know he likes The Mandalorian series too. Maybe that's where the idea for jetpacks in Odyssey came from?![]()
I wouldn't count on it until they release the AlphaI hope they're planning on releasing footage of devs playing.
I wouldn't go expecting anything until you see it in-game.IIRC, there will be. FD talked about different types of grenades... i think. Unless I imagined it.
If he's playing it on his new Apple silicon Mac, then I'll be interested, otherwise just more fluff.Saw his tweet in my twitter feed the other day:

Think they only mentioned 3 grenade types, explosive(harmful to armor), EMP(harmful to shield) and shield grenades(temporary defensive measure), can't remember where thoughIIRC, there will be. FD talked about different types of grenades... i think. Unless I imagined it.
Pretty sure he works quite a lot as a CEO. I'd think he doesn't code a lot nowadays though. It's nice that folk still think he works at Frontier.
Are you being serious? He's literally Founder and CEO of Frontier Developments. It's nice that folk still think he works at Frontier.

I think this is great, and at least shows Odyssey is in a state worthy of not only showing the CEO but also having him play it. Sadly we don't see enough of him these days - I miss the early Dev Diaries, with his enthusiasm and insights.
Incidentally, should any Devs happen to read this, I've been wondering what David is like to work for. He strikes me the type who would would be really great to work for, someone always ready to pass on his knowledge and enthusiasm, and supportive of the team environment. And what is he like to actually play Elite with, in particular Odyssey? I can imagine he would offer all sorts of insights, not just critiquing the game but also spitballing ideas for what could be done down the road - the 'what if...' type of discussion. I think that would foster a really creative workplace.
For that matter, there are many things in this life I would wish for if I had the proverbial 'three wishes', but one thing I think would be great would be to actually play this game with David himself, to take in his enthusiasm for it, to chew the fat over his career and where he sees Frontier Developments, and Elite, going into the future.
And even less in Assembly languagePretty sure he works quite a lot as a CEO. I'd think he doesn't code a lot nowadays though.
