After nearly 30 years, Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster studio CEO David Braben steps down

Braben will remain with the company in a new role, but day-to-day operations at Frontier Developments will now be led by former chief creative officer Jonny Watts.

Sounds like the board decided a shake up was in order

I wish they'd announce putting someone - anyone in charged of modernizing ED on to a better engine and structuring the programming with tight quality management.

I think ED still has a bit of an edge in the genre based on overall design, but the constant plague of bugs is bringing it down and losing players.

It is ripe for re-vitalization

I'm just not convinced FD has the will or the talent to do what needs to be done

I'd love for them to prove me wrong

I get a chuckle reading threads discussing AA problems that have always been in ED with no real signs of improvement. The "jaggies" has always been in ED with little to no improvement. A bit of a symbol for much of what is wrong at FD.

We can hope
