David Brabens talk at Tedx in Albert Hall.

Never forget even simple rules create complexity.

I love the whole idea of procedural generation. I'm not good with maths but I grasp the concepts.

I'm already sifting over enough SF at the moment, please don't bring SGU into it!!!:)

That was really nice.

Those planets are beautiful!

I wonder if we can have those as wallpapers.. in particular the ice world with narrow band of vegetation!

Am i the only one spotting hexogonal artifacts in the planet generation? i seem to be seeing this in some of the pictures from the video.

Great talk, I didn't realise how much could be generated by this method.

IF there is a GOD/Creator, HE would not have needed to craft it all physically - all HE/SHE would need to do is generate the seed numbers and step back and watch it all develop over the millennia/eons.

Just a thought.

If you look closely enough at anything in nature you'll find it's all created from simple rules.

I bet many on here, as kids, have used procedural generation. Spirograph was my favourite.

I first used procedural generation in code on the ZX81 to create mazes in some ridiculously small amount of memory. Used to spend hours viewing dud mazes from bad seeds to pick out the odd one that worked.
