I have been using the forums for a long time and i have never seen them awash with so much negative criticism of an update. Now, i have got to say that this game really means a lot to me, but come on. I hope to god that the dev team have all got their heads together and decided enough is enough and are going to change a few things. Namely the stupid amount of R.N.G. So come on, lets have a collective massive headshake session and start changing things for the better.

It is like this EVERY time.
A new version comes out, and the same people post the same complaints - nothing changes I think I can reliably name the first dozen or so people who will post something negative, even if it is unfounded.
To be fair there are a lot of things that need sorting with this release, but it is a damn good release. If people just posted constuctive criticism, we would be far better off.
This is not a criticism of the posters above, but of what is currently rife amogst the forums.

Aye, to be honest getting a bit fed up with the same folk spamming up the forum with the same repeat posts.
I mean check the post history of some of these folk, absolutely nothing good to say, I wonder why they stick around. Like go play another space game till No Man's Sky comes out or something.

Behave ... So you decided to put even more negativity on the forums after ranting about the negativity.
Its a vocal minority, nothing more.
Not only is it like this for every version, it's like this for every game. Sebastian Hammer adds a new feature alt..games.mud.diku goes nuts. Origin releases Trammel, firestorm. WoW adds battlegrounds ... ahhhh ...

Ironically it's also always the same faces who yell and shout "everything is FINE! FDEV can do no wrong!" while they shout down any kind of criticisms that people may have about 2.1, decrying them as "Moaners" and "cry babies".
The difference is those folk aren't constantly creating threads saying the same thing over and over again.
Hence the suggestion of filtering all the RNG moans into one thread.

Few dozen people out of a million don't like some things. Boo hoo. I hope devs will consider some of the more decent suggestions (because it would be decent of them) but ultimately will hold the line.

I suspect you'd find there is a lot of common ground on some issues, unfortunately it's impossible to see because those issues are completely drowned out by the sheer volume of posts by people needing to not just say 'me too' but to make their own little snowflake shaped thread.

I don't think this is true.
I feel ED has more than it's share of bitter negative people who like nothing more than to complain and moan.

Nobody is white knighting Frontier here , they are not perfect and neither is ED, such is the nature of game development. Moaners and cry baby comments are justified when some people write them crap they do on the forums on a day to day basis. I mean seriously people complaining because they can no longer play the game because suddenly they actually have to do something or because they lost a few credits here and there ... boo hoo ... Its a video game, not a way of life. When you get threads with comments like 'I quit, this game is unplayable' then yeah they deserve those types of comments.
These forums have degraded past a joke now in all honesty.

Its the older demographic that are the sensible ones. Why? Because they actually remember what it was like to play old video games, that were you know pretty hard in most cases.
Players these days don't have a clue, they want everything on a plate and they want it now, because they are self entitled.

I'm one of the 'older demographic' - well 49 -anyway - I don't think that's the case.
I like to think that by the time you get to my age you have had time to sample a lot of things in life, and appreciate that things are not black and white, and that there is more than one point of view, and that no-one is 'entitled' to anything.
The problem seem to stem from the fact that some people are incapable of constructively stating a point of view, and instead just hurl abuse / diatribe and think this is an okay way to behave (look at our politicians re Brexit or not !) - The joys of the internet.
Anyway back to red wine and ED
